We hired ******************************* to remodel our bathroom. We gave him two checks that total almost $10k. He told us he would start around Thanksgiving. Didn't show up. Left an email and voice mails with no response. Left several messages with people he knew, including his plumber who also refused to return our calls. We found out he was in ********** court for home improvement fraud. He finally called around December 10 and told us everything was in. At that point, I asked him if he bought the tub surround, and he didnt. He said he would order next week. After several calls to *************, he still didnt buy the surround. On Thursday, he told my husband that he could buy it from some mysterious place that could get it here faster than *************. He promised to send an invoice by Friday. Still no invoice so we asked for our deposit back on Monday. On Tuesday he told us his business partner, ***, supposedly transferred all the money out of the business account and forged papers (and a long crazy story). He told us he had no money for the deposit and if we wanted it back, we would have to wait 3 months and lose 30% of the deposit. He told us a few times he could start the bathroom just after Christmas. On December 21, he left a message stating that he came up with the money to buy the remaining items for the bathroom. Call ************* to verify that he bought the surround....and no he didnt. Have not heard back from him since December 21. We have filed charges with the *********************** for home improvement fraud. ***************************** is also facing charges in Lamoille county probably for the same thing.****************** was responsive in terms of getting our money, but communication since then has been non-existent. Do not hire this man no matter how many times he says you can trust him or the free extra work he will provide. He is scamming hard working people out of significant amounts of money. Stay away from this man and his company!
