      *************************** doesnt do her job, doesnt communicate with her customers or anyone involved in the claim. Getting a hold of her manager, *******, is a joke. She doesnt pick up her phone and doesnt call back. ***** just go in circles trying to get information and get so frustrated that itll be worth it to just look elsewhere. I beg you please dont waste your time. this company is falling apart and i guarantee they will stop paying out claims and customers will have to get lawyers.

We have been working diligently to resolve the outstanding portions of the claim and have maintained continual contact with the insured throughout the entire claims process. We want to assure them that every effort is being made to resolve this claim as quickly as possible, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the process can sometimes take longer than anticipated. We acknowledge and apologize for their frustration with the process. We have issued payments throughout the adjustment process and recently issued a payment for the third supplement.       Dealing with a house fire and Vermont mutual used colonial adjustments. Well the whole scheme is pretty much fraud. These two companies keep breaking the laws. Once we Finnish building our house were taking them to court. Watch out if you have to deal with them.

      To Whom It May ********************** allow this to serve as a response to the BBB customer review #******.  The review in question was submitted by a representative of our named Insured, a family member.  We have been working diligently to resolve the outstanding portions of the claim and have maintained continual contact with the insured's representative throughout the entire claims process.

      We want to assure them that every effort is being made to resolve this claim as quickly as possible, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the process can sometimes take longer than anticipated.  However,while we acknowledge their frustration, their accusation of fraud is completely false and wholly without merit.  We have issued payments throughout the adjustment process and will continue to assess the open aspects of the claim as we await the requested documentation.  Our intention is to continue to work collaboratively with the insureds representative and reach an amicable settlement for all outstanding portions of the claim.

      If I could leave zero stars, I would. After 20 years of having auto insurance through VT Mutual, they terminated our policy because our child was in a no-fault accident and then received a speeding ticket. Shortly after the speeding ticket, our insurance increased by an extra $1,000. This was more than a year ago. Now they won't renew our policy, although we have given VT Mutual thousands of dollars over 20 years. If you are paying the premiums, terminating our insurance is a greedy move. I do not recommend them. I will also be canceling our homeowners insurance.

      Please allow this to serve as a response to the complaint filed with BBB by Ms. ******************** We understand that all accidents are unfortunate. In this specific case,the accident involving **************** son was determined to be at-fault due to her son colliding with a stationary object. As an insurance provider, we must rely on accurate data to assess our exposure to risk and we rely on this data to accurately price our policies. Traffic accident statistics demonstrate that younger drivers are more likely to experience accidents and violations, due in large part to their lack of experience on the road (please note that her son received his licensed in 2023). Because of these facts, the policy is priced to reflect the increase in exposure.

      Additionally,in this case specifically, her son was licensed for fewer than 6 months.Combined with an at-fault accident plus a speeding violation, all within the same year, suggests an even higher likelihood of future accidents and/or violations. Unfortunately, due to the increased exposure, our risk analysis has determined that the policy should be non-renewed.

      We hope this explanation clarifies our reasoning for the premium increase and non-renewal.

      Buyer beware. Our condo association's master insurance policy was with VT Mutual - we've been a paying customer for at least 15 years (if not more) and never filed a claim until last year. Once we did that, they dropped us as quickly as they could.Now, let's think about this: they've been receiving money from us for many years - in sum total, more than our claim (so they've still made a profit off of us). Additionally, let's not forget all those years they we've been sending them money, money they were free to invest with as they see fit, resulting in even more profit.Yet they didn't do something like increase our premium after we filed a claim - they simply dropped us, forcing us to buy replacement insurance at more than TWICE the cost!Moral of the story: look elsewhere because they WILL drop you if you ever need to use the actual service you're investing in.

      Absolute worst insurance company in the world. They claim this c*** about wards 50 for best safety, consistency, and performance. It is all consumer data and about their own profile ratings, not that of their customers they insure. I purchased a dwelling and within 6 months the septic system failed. I got the lingo about wear tear and deterioration blah blah. Which of course wasn't a fault of my own but they dont care. They then proceeded to tell me that they are in now way responsible to help with coverage of disposing of the septic waste that has compiled in my yard because it wasn't due to one of their sixteen perils. Who gives a c*** what caused it, there is hazardous waste sitting in my yard making it unsafe and detrimental to my children and the company could give two craps. Tell me they care about their customers and their safety but will not help alleviate a huge financial burden in any way possible even at the cost of hazardous materials in near children. They can post about how they donate to other charitable organizations all they want, but essentially they're taking your money and ostracizing you as their client and giving it to others so they can achieve their amazing ratings. This company does not give two craps about any of their clients, except in the aspect that they are paying them.

      Horrendous! Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The arrogant ***** wouldn't even discuss anything with me regarding my claim (that I ended up cancelling, because as I explained to them, a contractor that was hired to install turbine vents on ******* was trying to drill up business by pulling up a few shingles on my house and then telling me I needed the roof replacement and tried to get the job). Truth is, the roof is not in bad shape, so I had those missing shingles replaced and paid out of pocket. Again, I never got paid for the claims because I cancelled the claim after I figured out what was going on. Then Vermont Mutual raised my HOI by about $200 per month and said they would not renew. Needless to say, I immediately changed HOI companies. They're not getting another cent from me, and I advice you to also not give them your hard earned money.

      Their homeowners policy is not worth the paper it is written on. Never followed through, did not do what they profess to do, dont care about you and certainly dont want to talk with you. The only claim I ever filed in over 50 years as a homeowner and I was never made whole, while it took months to receive payment. Depreciation on 8 year old Sheetrock and wall paint? Please. Established a value on my ********** and contents (grossly inflated) without ever setting foot on my property.

      I highly advise people to look elsewhere for their insurance needs. Conduct business with Vermont Mutual AT YOUR OWN RISK. We had a condominium insurance policy with Vermont Mutual for ************************************** 10 years in February of 2023, a month when ****** experienced historic double digit low temperatures as far as -18 degrees. This extreme cold temperature caused our water line to freeze and split, flooding our first floor. Our heat was on, our doors and windows were shut and locked and people were home. We did everything we could have done to prevent this from happening. We immediately came out of pocket to make the necessary repairs and it was like pulling teeth to get through the claims process. It took multiple months, countless back and forth, and us requesting to escalate the claim at Vermont Mutual in order to get reimbursed. When our policy came ** for renewal later in the year, Vermont Mutual refused to continue to provide coverage for us because we had filed a claim. As longstanding clients, when we reached out to try to discuss this with Vermont Mutual we were told that the *********************** does not speak with clients. We were also told that we should have done more to prevent the pipes from bursting, even though ****** experienced record breaking cold temperatures in February of 2023 when we filed our claim.I have heard Vermont Mutual is doing this to many of their clients. I have noticed several 1 star reviews and I would believe them all. I know we sincerely regret giving Vermont Mutual our business for all those years. There are a lot of options for insurance. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE.

      Racism, Forgery, Fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices 4/24/22, the Property was damaged by the effect of a fire. Policy # DP00039093 Claim # DL002104 and DL002901. Vermont Mutual Insurance Group and ********************************** ******** have has engaged in several unfair and deceptive trade practices in connection with the matter referenced above including the following: (1) failing to timely and thoroughly investigate the above-referenced claim concerning, at least (and misrepresenting to Insured) that a building inspector or other governmental official ordered (the Order) the third floor of the above-referenced residence (Residence) to be demolished (Third Floor Demolition) (see the following paragraph); (2) failing to adopt and implement reasonable standards for the prompt investigation of claims arising under the above-reference insurance policy; (3) unnecessarily overpaying demolition contractor: (a) to unnecessarily undertake the Third Floor Demolition; and (b) for the demolition of the chimney at the Residence by delivering an additional check for such work when it was already included in the contract for the original Demolition Work; and (4) making claims payments to insured or beneficiaries not accompanied by a statement setting forth the coverage under which payments are being made. Furthermore, certain of the estimates by VMI to repair the property are significantly below (Lowball) what is necessary to complete the work. Insured investigation has not found any evidence of the order and neither Vermont Mutual Insurance Group nor ********************************** ******** have responded to his requests for such information. The Owner of the demolition company who was brought by ********************************** ******** employee made racist remarks and threats insured/homeowner. In addition, he also made a false chimney claim.

      Completely unreliable. Claims ***** is a black hole. Lack of answers, responses of status updates after months of their adjuster visiting the location and documenting the water and mold damage. Family is breathing in mold that VT mutual adjuster acknowledged is present and covered by our policy yet needed to expose more by cutting holes in our walls and ceiling to gain more proof. Now we have holes in our walls and ceilings for weeks with no answer and no determination from VT on amounts we can expect to fix the damage.

      To Whom it May ************** allow this to serve as a response to the complainants concerns. In regard to the timeframe, the loss was first reported to Vermont Mutual on May 19, 2022. The adjuster assigned to the claim contacted the policyholder on May 20, 2022 and inspected the property on May 23, 2022.The policyholder showed the adjuster water damages and explained that the damages resulted from leaking tiles in the second floor bathroom. The policyholder also explained that the framing behind the bathroom wall had mold and rot damage, but that the damage had been covered up. The policyholder was notified in writing of the policyholders responsibility to show the damaged property and to make reasonable and necessary repairs to prevent further damage. The adjuster was subsequently notified by the policyholder that portions of the walls had now been removed. The adjuster inspected the newly opened areas on September 8, 2022, and recently submitted a report to us for review.At this time, we will be working with the adjuster to finalize the scope of covered damages and present a settlement offer to the policyholder. With all due respect to the policyholder, we believe that Vermont Mutual acted quickly and responsibly to adjust the claim as presented, given that all of the damages were not readily available to inspect until only recently.
