RO# ***** They had my car from Aug 19 - Oct 18. Work was done and it was considered drivable, albeit missing a door, for most of its time there. It was sitting, waiting for a door for over a month. When picking up my car I heard a loud grinding sound underfoot in the wheel well that wasnt there before. They did $10K+ worth of work on my car. I hadnt left the parking lot before turning around and asked that it be looked at. I was assured it was only grime from sitting in the rain and would go away on its own. It was not put on a lift to be looked at.The next day I noticed the drivers side door, which was just replaced, was blowing in air. When I called them to get the door looked at on Nov 17, it was confirmed the door was loose, leaking, and was subsequently fixed. (I was out of town 2x for a couple of days then sick so was unable to drive far or call sooner.)Nov 25 I failed a state inspection. The car -a southern car which had no rust because it's only spent one winter in *********** and has also been parked in covered parking spaces for the past 3 years- didnt pass inspection because the brake pads and rotors were so rusted. Last years inspection the garage was amazed at how good of shape the car was in.I asked how, since it was at a collision center for two of the past three months, and was told its common to see that when a car is sitting for too long. I called KCC and the man I spoke with interrupted me before I could finish saying why the brakes for rusted and finished my sentence. He was unfazed and adamant that they wouldnt cover the cost of fixing it. The reason there is rust is because it sat in their lot for two months. He stated its common, happens often, and they are seeing it at an increasing rate. He was fully aware it was likely to happen, took no steps to prevent or warn me of it, then refused to cover the cost of the damage from the negligence. There is over $400 worth of damage to my car due to negligence from an autobody shop.
