I am writing to file a complaint against The Seasons Resorts at Sugarbush for their lack of responsiveness and assistance in our attempt to cancel our timeshare arrangement with their company. We purchased this timeshare in the mid-90s and now would like to deed it out of our names. We cannot afford the ever-increasing fees, and recently, the company has been asking for special assessments and even more money. During the sales presentation, we were misled into believing that this was an investment. We were shown a big book of RCI listings everywhere and told that we would be able to swap with only a minimum swapping fee (under $100). However, after purchasing the timeshare, we found the swapping fee to be much more expensive than what the sales representative had mentioned. In addition, we later discovered that we had to pay a yearly membership fee to RCI, enabling us to swap our week. Trading had so many restrictions that finding the right week to trade and schedule a vacation with our family became nearly impossible. On the few occasions when we did manage to use our timeshare, we faced difficulties in finding weeks that suited our needs. Availability and locations for swaps were minimal, and our vacation experience was far from satisfactory. At least once, we stayed at a resort that claimed to have open amenities, which was clearly not the case. The write-up misrepresented the resort, and our family was left extremely disappointed. As we are now on a fixed income, we can no longer afford the fees associated with this timeshare. Despite our multiple attempts to contact The Seasons Resorts at Sugarbush, they have not responded to our requests for information on release options. We kindly ask for your assistance in resolving this matter and urge The Seasons Resorts at Sugarbush to review our account and provide us with the available options for canceling our timeshare.Customer response
