I took my Daughter to Harbor kids dental in ********. They said she really needed braces. So we got an appointment to see how bad everything was. At that point, she was at 16 points, and 20 points were needed for it to be considered medical necessity, and for the insurance to cover it. I decided to wait, being a single mother and the sole provider of the house, We went back a few months later to get it reevaluated, to see if the insurance would cover, and at this time, her teeth were getting so bad that her top palette was deformed, her eye tooth was impacted, and she couldnt close her mouth, and was having trouble chewing and eating. The orthodontist again, gave her the same points, and offered to set up a payment plan. I agreed because I couldnt have her in the state she was in. The orthodontist continually cancelled appointments, rescheduling months out. A month and a half ago, she got a surgery referred by the orthodontist to have all wisdom teeth removed, and a hole drilled into her gum to have a bracket attached to the eye tooth that was impacted.According to the surgeon, the orthodontist needed to evaluate within a week after the surgery. My Daughter went to Harbor Kids Dental to her appointment and waited in line for over 10 minutes by the time she got to the receptionist, she said she was late for her appointment and she would have to reschedule a couple months out. I called them and told them the time sensitivity that the surgeon gave us and they said they had nothing. I asked to talk to their manager, and the receptionist said that she had no idea when the manager would be there. I called the surgeon and the surgeon was very upset so she called Harbor Kids Dental and they called me back with an appointment , six days from then. My daughter just went in three days ago to get the braces adjusted. They were going to put a new bracket on the eye tooth and they cut her gums making her bleed. They said they couldnt put it on since she was bleeding. She went to make an appointment so they could put the bracket on the tooth so the gums dont grow over it again and said we were behind on payments and we couldnt schedule anything until we paid the bill. I was desperate called a friend of mine to see if he could pay the thousand dollars owing out of the over $5000 total cost and I could pay him back later and he did. Once the bill was paid I called the orthodontist to make an appointment and they said they are scheduling months out and would not see her , I told them it was time sensitive and they said it didnt matter. The braces are paid in full.
