On May 24, 2023, I reserved the *************** in ******* which at the time the property was owned by Three Bears Lodging. The property was sold and the new owners sent an email on April 29, ****************************************************** July. My reservation was for July *****, 2024. I booked 14 months in advance due to the size of our group and limited lodging in *******. On June 6, 2024, I was notified by email that my reservation was canceled but I could rebook for over double the price. My original price was $1300 and the new price was going to be $2650. I had a reservation in place that should have been honored by the new owners. In April, the email did not state any problems with the reservation. There are over 10 cabins under the new management and the two largest cabins were selectively targeted and reservations canceled, and fees doubled. The reservations at the smaller cabins were not canceled. The cabin I had booked was renamed - Rainier River Retreat. I spoke with the gentleman handling the transition of the property and is the new property manager (*********************** ************) and he stated that the new owners wanted to make more money. I questioned him as to why the price for July ***** (Thurs-Sun) was over $2600 when the following week the same 3 weeknights were only $1840. My complaint is that we had a guaranteed reservation in place and the new company should honor that reservation. Again, this is not about the money we paid for the deposit. This is about our reservation not being honored yet other reservations at smaller cabins were not effected.
