Today, 2/25/23, this company, at the location ****************************** within Rainier National Park, charged $151.19 to my credit card without my authorization. The retail worker stated that the charge was due to a broken piece in one of the snowshoes I had rented earlier that day. I rented the snowshoes at 9:30 am and then walked on soft, powdery snow for a couple of hours. Half-way through the hike, the metal part of the snowshoe that connects to the binding broke. I told the worker I did not agree to pay for the replacement of the old snowshoes since we had used the snowshoes in exactly the way intended. Im concerned that the business is making rental customers pay large sums as they replace snowshoes that probably need to be retired. I am requesting a full refund and Id like the store to stop renting out old equipment or stop charging customers the price of brand new equipment when their old rental equipment breaks.

Back in July I was planning to do a ********* 3 loop hike from **********************. I knew I would be exhausted after a ***** miles hike. So I attempted to reserve a hotel room at *****************. When I clicked at the link to ***************** and it somehow linked to Paradise Inn. Without knowledge of this, I booked a room in Paradise Inn mistakenly. Then a confirmation email from Paradise Inn came in at 2:38PM July 18, 2022. After checking on the address, I realized Paradise Inn was more than 2 hours driving away from **********************. I attempted to call ************ multiple times in vain to get through. At 3:13PM, July 18, 2022 I sent email to *************************************************************** to cancel my reservation. In November 7, I sent an email to mtrainierreservations general manager: *************************** directly and got no response so far. 1st, Paradise Inn or Mt Rainier guest services used misguided link (I intended to book a room at ***************** not at Paradise Inn) to prompt me book a room at the wrong location.2nd, I had tried to dispute this unreasonable charge with my Credit card company in vain 3rd, I had tried to resolve with Mt Rainier Services manager in email in vain I would like to get help from BBB.Thank you in advance for any help

      Customer response

Thank you very much for your message, Resolutions Specialist at BBB.

Actually I wanted them to fully refund my credit card charge. I have no choice to accept their certificate instead. I would like BBB to post this case as a warning sign for other customers. I really think they are engaging a deceptive practice.

Thank you again for your help,
      ******
