On October 13, 2021, Better Business Bureau was alerted to a contractor operating as Affordable Interiors, LLC with an advertised address of 2626 South Tacoma Way Tacoma, Washington 98409, telephone 206-887-7482. The business advertises being a local full-service remodeling contractor. Consumers allege paying the business several thousand dollars for remodeling projects that have not been started or finished as promised, sub-contractors hired to perform work claim they were not paid, and the business is unresponsive to requests for assistance regarding refunds. Ten complaints reported to BBB between May 18, 2021, and October 07, 2021, show consumers lost a combined $98,338.00.

Research by BBB revealed the license for Affordable Interiors, LLC is active however, they have five pending lawsuits against their bond as reported by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries, https://secure.lni.wa.gov/verify/Detail.aspx?UBI=604177626&LIC=AFFORIL839QO&SAW=.
BBB learned the owner of the business, Konstantin Samoylenko, may be operating in the Nampa area of Idaho under the business name Source Contracting, LLC. A business license search with the Idaho Secretary of State revealed an active business license with a filing date of May 01, 2021,  the signature of his wife, Mariya Samoylenko, appears on the filing, and she reported the business address to be 30024 41st Avenue S. Auburn, Washington 98001.

BBB discovered that Source Contracting, LLC has an active Facebook page with claims the business headquarters is located in Nampa, Idaho. They are advertising their work in Idaho City, Nampa, and Emmett, Idaho, and they are seeking employees to work for them. The email address for the business is [email protected] and the business website is https://sourcecontractingllc.com/.

On October 05, 2021, at 12:06 PM, BBB contacted Mariya Samoylenko by telephone and explained BBB would like to speak her husband, Konstantin, regarding the consumer complaints reported to BBB. She said she would have to call him and she wrote down the telephone number to contact BBB.  She denied any knowledge of the consumer complaints and she was unaware of the amount of money that had been collected by the business for work that was not performed. She said she would have her husband contact BBB.

As of October 15, 2021, Konstantin and Mariya Samoylenko, have not contacted BBB to address the consumer complaints. The website for Source Contracting, LLC (https://sourcecontractingllc.com/) is no longer in service. On October 14, 2021, BBB reached out to Affordable Interiors, LLC via email and U.S. Mail seeking a response to the complaints. A response is pending.

BBB would like to warn consumers that when considering a contractor for home improvement projects, visit your local government or state governments website to verify licensing, insurance, bond, and pending actions against a business before providing a deposit.
