9/27/2022 ************ is the most irresponsible company and they commit fraud on insurance companies, destroying peoples homes and tell people oh the insurance company will cover it.We had water damage in our home due to a water leak in our main bathroom. ************ came into my home and removed half my bedroom stating that they will say the water went into your bedroom so that they will pay to rebuild it. The took out my ceilings all of my flooring from the beginning of my hallway all the way back to half my bedroom. They removed my whole laundry room, pantry all the doors all the insulation (they did have the insulation put back under my house) all my cupboards and you could literally see through my house from the kitchen to my bedroom. We had the insurance adjuster come out as they did not understand what was taking place and why I was calling about my house being destroyed and didn't understand why the insurance company was now telling me that they weren't going to cover the damage. I had a $50000.00 water damage policy and found that the Restorx company was milking the whole thing, a supposedly 2 day job turned into almost a month taking over $12k of the claim. I was given no choice they came in said that the insurance company told them to do it all. When in fact the insurance company told them to remove damage and clean the mold and instead they would come in squirt some boards that had nothing on them and leave and we had to wait again, telling us that everything was still wet one day and then miraculously overnight everything was dry and they left after finding out there was a $50k limit. They absolutely destroyed my house and claimed EVERYTHING that was taken out was going to be put back in when in fact was not the way things work. Now they are holding all my personal belongings until they get $4k more. We requested pictures of what they destroyed and what the reason was for removal and we have yet to receive those pictures.Business response

First off, I would like to say we are sad to hear that they had a bad experience during this very difficult time as a homeowner. At the beginning of the claim our coordinator wrote a very detailed protocol using industry standards before any work was done, the Adjuster reviewed the protocol and approved our scope of work. At that time, the insurance adjuster did not reveal the minimal coverage of their policy ($50,000). After the scope was approved, we removed all the material that was affected with water intrusion and mold growth by prolonged leaking from a hot water pipe. No material was removed that did not incur damage from this claim.
We did everything necessary to mitigate the affected areas and treat the mold growth. After we found out they had substantially low coverage we tried to reduce cost for them, this included reinsulating their crawl space at no cost to them (build back was not included in our scope of work).
They have since received their contents back as the insurance company has agreed to pay them under personal property coverage instead of the dwelling as they originally stated. Photos have been sent again to the insured. Insurance has paid the policy limits of 50k, that is an agreement with the insurance and policy holder. We use an agreed price list that all mitigation companies use. Restorx has been in business for over 40 years.
