We had an estimate for two trees to be removed for $1000. He was dropping tree branches into our neighbors yard. When asked to help keep it in our yard he became hostile. He told my wife after completing the smaller tree to give him $500 and then he would finish the other. When my wife pulled the money out he grabbed it out of her hands and shoved her away. He then got in his car and left. We now have money stolen from us and an incomplete job that was left a mess. We are filing a report with the police for assault and theft but would really just like the job completed and we will pay the remaining balance. We have video documentation from our cameras.Business response

The person filing this complaint was not present during the cutting of the cherry tree. The agreed upon ESTIMATE given to the clients was almost 2 months ago to cut the 2 cherry trees for $1000. There was to be no cut up or clean up, meaning everything cut was to be left where it fell. During the cutting of the first tree, the client was complaining about how limbs were on the neighbors yard and bushes. She kept saying there was $20 of damage done to her neighbors **** when no damage had occurred. With all of the drama during the cutting of the first tree, I decided I was done and asked for half of the original price to be paid so I could leave before things escalated on her part. After giving me the $500, she lunged at me as if to get her cash back or a receipt.
There was no assault made from me, the only contact was when I arrived and shook her hand before I started the job. She called me a thief and later her husband called to state that they had video of me assaulting her and that they had contacted the police.

I am rejecting this response because: this is irrelevant. He took the money and when my wife tried to get the receipt he violently hit her with his hip. We no longer want him to come back to our property as we have employed another service. The arrangement was for two trees a large one for $800 and a small one for $200. He took $500 for the smaller tree and has now stolen $300 from us. I was not able to be present so he intimated my wife and took advantage of her. We are now seeking resolution by receiving our $300 back and making the community aware of what a horrible business this is to deal with. We had to replace one of our neighbors bushes due to him breaking a limb off recklessly. I should have rescheduled knowing he was a womanizer with a hot temper. I am embarrassed for ever putting my wife in this situation. If he is to return to our property it will be protected with just cause. We have filed assault and theft charges with the police as well as provided all video footage from when he entered our property to when he left.
Sincerely,
