  Direct Textbook gave editing credit to *********************** and this is incorrect .she is not contracted to edit the book. Please remove her name.

  Direct Textbook did not add or give editing credit to **************************. The book information we show comes from ****** and other reputable third-part databases that provide book details. We do not take liberties with book descriptions nor have any need to do so. 
  
  We have contacted the author to explain this and our IT team has removed the additional name from the listing on Direct Textbook.

  I published my book 2015 and terminated the services of my publisher 2016.I purchased my ISBN and registered my title with ******. My Copyright is registered and my work cataloged with ***********************, All Rights Reserved. Direct Textbooks CEO went to Bowkers listing, took my new ISBN# and title and is using it to do business. This is unethical business practice. and piracy. This is shameful to say the least.

  We're having difficulty understanding this author's grievance.
  
  She states that we have stolen her intellectual property by altering the metadata linked to her ISBN to promote sales of her book on our website. 
  
  The reality is that the metadata associated with her ISBN is provided to us by a third-party provider and is responsible for showing us a title, author name, and book image for an ISBN.
  
  When this author's ISBN is entered into our search tool, our site returns the following message: 
  
  "We cannot find any prices for this book. We found no useful results from these new and used textbook sellers."
  
  In addition, Direct Textbook does not sell or rent books; our service shows visitors where they can buy and rent. We cannot promote sales or direct our patrons to stores and marketplaces for a book that we show no results for. 
  
  Lastly, you can see that another organization is returning the same results as us here:

  We hope that this complaint will be removed from our profile since it doesn't hold any validity and the author is unwilling to listen to our explanation. The author will need to work with the company that provides her book information to us and other reputable organizations.

  I am rejecting this response because: I find it appalling that Direct Textbook would send this to the bbb. ***** from Direct Textbooks sent me an email to tell me that they got their information from ****** (not a third party), and ****** keeps sending them the feeds for my book. She further advised me to contact ****** and ask them to remove the information for my book from their registry. I told her Bowkers  listing does not have title and isbn only,  it has Metadata information, which would include title, author, isbn, date of publication, format, publisher. After I gave her that information I contacted ****** who also verified the information with me. I told them you can not remove your name and date of birth from a regisrry and its was the same way you can not remove information about a book from a  registry.
  

  I told them to cease and decist and if they did not the matter would be further addressed. I also to them to communicate with me through bbb. Please see images attached where information was altered. Rather than having the title of my book followed by the name of the author, they have -Find  isbn #...Di......., by Scripture ref. KJV at over 30 bookstores. To add insult to injury they put it next to the cover of the image of my book that was used by my xpublisher that I terminated his services since ****. They further post another no image available image with my title and isbn next to it. Please images attached to verify this information.

   

  Prior to contacting bbb I sent messages to the *** that I was verified owner for my intellectual property but they ignored and went further to put up a cover image not available. 

  If they did not understand me in the past let me make it a little clearer. My copyright states "No part of this publication may be, stored in a retrieval system,or transmitted, in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying,  recording, or otherwise, without the written permission of the author. My ISBN is new and my book is scheduled to be republished so, to date no one has permission to use my new isbn and title.

  Direct Textbooks, you can not take registered Copyrighted work that is cataloged with *********************** and use it without the authors permission. That is called copyright infringement. Please see images attached.

  We are at a complete loss on how to communicate with this complainant.
  
  
  We have informed her that the book information we show on our site comes from third-party platforms such as ****** and other databases.
  
  
  We did not manipulate any metadata that would alter the information linked to this author's ISBN. The author's claims that we amended her book's information to gain profit are false and absurd; we didn't even show pricing results for her book from the stores and marketplaces we search.
  
  
  We have permanently removed her ISBN from our site and will not show any future work of hers on our site as well.

  I am rejecting this response because: To date the information is still listed. Since Direct Textbooks fail to admit that they are infringing on my intellectual property, when the listing is removed I will accept. Direct Textbook when you have my ISBN...,-Title...- Direct Textbook you are indirectly taking ownership of my intellectual property. There is nowhere on your listings that has my name.When thr listing is removed I will accept. I wanted to attach images but it is not allowing me to do so.

  As per telephone conversation re Direct Textbook. The narrative of the situation is, my book was First published 2015 and I terminated the services if the xpublisher 2016.

   

  My book is now registered with a new ISBN# with Bowker, my title registered and cataloged with the Library of Congress and is scheduled to be published December 2022. My work is All Rights Reserved.

   

  Direct Textbook claimed Bowker keeps sending the feed to them as per email they sent to me. Bowker has Metadata, not just ISBN and Title.

  What they have done is take my new ISBN and Title added their name, indirectly taking ownership for my title. They refuse to add my name and instead put by Scripture reference KJV. This is copyright infringement. See images attached.
