I forgot to cancel the membership renewal of ******* Badminton Club for the new year. After I was charged for the new membership fee, I realized it and asked for a refund because I don't need it. The ask was refused by them, although it was not clear in their website that I can't get refunded.Customer response

Bellevue Badminton Club provides Badminton ******s to kids and adults. I had signed up my son for a summer session last year. I also took a family membership to play at the courts by paying for the court time. This was separate from the ****** fees and was charged annually. However, the club created a auto-renewal subscription by default for this membership without my explicit consent. I had no knowledge how it was setup or how to view/cancel it. The club says that its the default setting used by their court booking system called courtreserve. They sent an email a week earlier without any instructions on how to cancel it if needed. This was done during the spring break holidays when I like lot of other people are out with families and then they immediately charged the card after the week. I called immediately as soon I got back. In spite of my requests to void it as I didn't want to renew it, they insisted on charging me for it. It was a clear deceptive tactic used by the club to charge the fees.
