I have contacted the company twice by email since May 6th, and once by mail, dated May 26th this year and received no answer at all. I was pretty sure I had already renewed my NY Magazine for two years but kept getting notices that my subscription had run out. Finally I gave in and on May 3rd sent $130 for a two year renewal, only to then find in a file drawer a copy of the check I sent on Feb 7th for the same amount. I copied the checks and attached them to one and then a second email, asking for return of my second check - with no response to either email. Then when that second check showed on my bank statement as cashed, I wrote a letter giving them the "last opportunity" to respond and send me $130, as I did NOT, at age 76, want a 4-year subscription. I included copies of the checks in that letter as well, and told them I would be contacting the BBB if I didn't hear back and so I am. The website says the company is located at P O Box ****** ************* *****, not in *******, ** as it came up automatically on this form. I sent my letter to the former address.

      Hello,

Please look at the complaint and review the attachments you will see that!

This individual is not our customer, she paid the New ************* Directly with a check as shown in the attachment.

We are not New ************** and the customer was told that.

All you or the customer need to do is to contact the correct company (New *************) and request a refund.

We suggest in the future please read the material before sending out complaint.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:
Professional Subscription Services NEVER before told me the information given here in response to my contacting BBB.  In contrast to their saying I renewed with the ** Magazine, the form I filled out and attached to my correspondence with them, clearly indicates that Professional Subscription Services was involved in both the solicitations for renewal that I received.  Had I been told in response to my original email  that I should contact ** Magazine, I would have done so.  That they ignored all three of my communications with them is reason enough to complain about the company.

I will go ahead and contact ** Magazine at this time and will let you know if in fact they are able to correct the problem.
      Sincerely,

      *************************
