We have been a member of Elements Massage for several years now. We have a signed membership with them where we pay them a monthly fee that amounts to the equivalent of an hourly massage (roughly $70-80 over the years) with the signed membership stating that the credits never expire. Over the last few years they have had a difficult time with employees staying with the Wilsonville location where our membership has been located. As a result, they have had to cancel several scheduled massages and we have accumulated over $1500 of credit. With that occuring we had tried to transfer our membership to another location. They said all credits could be transfered, however, Wilsonville location refused to release the credits. We got an email in the mid summer stating that the Wilsonville lcoation was closing and that all unused credits would not be honored once they closed. After several emails, the owner is now willing to give us a gift certificate to another location that expires in February. After that any unused credits will expire. The owner states this is because he is losing money on the business and cannot "cash out" his costomers because he has spent the money already. The other Elements massages are willing to take the credits permanently but state the Wilsonville owner refuses to release them. Essentially we paid for services that were never provided and with a signed company membership stating they never expire and can/should be transfered. The owner isn't filing bankruptcy as far as we know so he is just taking our money and the other members money, closing his branch and running away with it.
