On 12/15/22 I entered into a contractor with ******* Decking/Concrete to rebuild and extend the deck, pour concrete footings, and extend the driveway. On 1/28/23, the job started with digging the footing and preparing the other areas for the new concrete. While the work was very slow, the work proceeded and the concrete was poured with minimal issues (there we some spillage of concrete on the existing concrete that was never addressed). The concrete pour was for exposed aggregate. After the concrete the rebuild of the deck started. I would watch the build and make some comments on concerns to the contractor. He was open and generally stated he would fix the issues. As the weeks progressed, the contractor showed up less and was dealing with family issues as well as health issues. I continued to ask when was the balance of the material going to be delivered and instead of having a full load delivered, he would try and get the material in his truck without a support cage. I remember that when he delivered the first few pieces of the decking, they fell o! the truck onto my driveway and slid all the way to the road. In the process, damaging one of the composite boards. On 3/15/23 things came to a head and he fired his last worker ****. A few weeks prior he fired *****. The contractor stated he had some other employees that would be helping, but the work significantly slowed down at this point. Things continued to deteriorate and on 3/27/23 he had indicated that the decking and railing for the deck was going to be delivered and failed to deliver all of the decking and any of the railing. The contractor seemed to be more worried about getting the deck built even if it meant that the quality was poor. He quickly bulit the steps and started to put up the final outer layer of wood (facia). The joists and other framing lumber still had not be completed or had major gaps but still he continued to put up the final layer. I finally had enough and fired him from the job.

********* Decking and Concrete gave me an estimate to do my front and back deck for a waterproof deck with metal railings. The downpayment was 1/2 job deposit of $5600.00 for the front deck which was paid on 10/9/22. According to the company, the permit was sent to *************** but took a long time to get approved due to their mistake of providing the correct documentation. So, *************************** the owner said to start the back deck instead while waiting for the permit. On 1/13/23, *************************** asked me to pay $2500.00 for the back deck to get it started. So, I paid him a total of $8100.00. The back deck was installed with trex and white railing. But, the railing was damaged, cut and not connected correctly. The old stairs were not replaced. The posts are cut in the bottom. The trex materials were cut into different pieces with holes on top because they nailed on top of the trex. the joist were not sturdy. They did not use a full facia board, instead the materials used for everything were cut into pieces. I've called ****** right away and reported to him the job that was done in the back deck, he said that he will be there to fix it. He never showed up. I took a video of it and all contractors were saying that everything they did was wrong. In February, my husband spoke to *************************** and requested to give us back the money that we paid him in full. He said he will give it back to us in 2 weeks, but he never did. I've called him again and texted few times but he never returned our calls or texts. He basically took our money for the front deck the $5600.00 down payment (which he never started the job) and the $2500.00 that he installed in the back deck that was wrong. I even asked him to give us the money that he took from us and we will move on to hire somebody else to complete the job the right way. They left garbage and mess in the back yard and 2 plywoods in the front of our house. They even broke our backyard fence.
