I called Awesome Ford about having my brakes done, they quoted me $370 without any other issues for a straight brake job and so I decided to go there after some research. They called me during my brake job (5/6/23) and told me that the calipers also needed to be replaced, so I agreed, which were an additional $115 each. At the end of the day I went to pick up my truck (no call from them) and was told that one of their crewmen had walked off the line during my service, so it was a crazy day, which is why there was no phone call. My wife and I did a payment plan all thinking we had the full brakes done. Then, we were given the receipt for our brake job, thinking nothing of it and left. Literally, the next day (5/7/23), my abs sensor goes off, so I call Awesome Ford and they have me bring it back in later in the week (5/11/23). She (****) told me on the phone that they did a full inspection and that everything was fine. So, I brought me truck back and they (****) admitted that they only changed one set of brakes, which were not the more faulty ones and that the abs sensor hcu was now messed up and quoted me for both the rear brakes and the hcu. The cost for the rear brakes will cost between $370-593 plus tax (depending on if it will need calipers, which if they are worse, they probably will), and then the hcu will be an additional $2285.99 plus tax after parts and labor.

I have a 2020 **** f350 it has been to awesome Ford four times for transmission issues extremely hard down shift from 3rd gear to second gear. First time they reprogrammed it which did nothing. Second time they rebuilt valve body on the transmission didn't change anything. Third time they replaced the valve body with a new one still no change still very hard shift from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. Fourth time the reprogrammed the truck again and now it won't down shift into 2nd gear at all it will totally skip 2nd gear while down shifting now they say the problem is fixed it doesn't have a hard shift now. When all they did was programmed it ovoid the problem so now I have a 10 speed while up shifting but only a 9 speed down shifting. Which is a huge problem when pulling trailers the rpms are so low trying to come to a stop going from 3rd gear to 1st once the truck is almost at a stop. Not using 2nd gear the truck doesn't have any back pressure from the motor and the exhaust brake can't work properly with the rpms being so low from not having 2nd gear the truck has a hard time stopping when pulling a loaded trailer

Awesome Ford has followed ****s repair procedures to resolve ****************' complaint of a hard shift concern from 3rd to 1st gear. After completing each repair, the concern was no longer present until the customer received the vehicle back and had driven a longer distance than a standard test drive. Awesome Ford contacted **** Technical Assistance and performed the additional valve body replacement per ****s recommended repair. When the customer returned, ********************** contacted **** Technical Assistance and advised the ********** Service Engineer due to the concern returning after completing ****s recommended repairs. Awesome Ford was advised to complete a software update in the Transmission and Powertrain Control Modules. Although the hard shift from 3rd to 1st gear is no longer present **************** contacted Awesome Ford concerned about the transmission no longer shifting down into 2nd gear. Awesome Ford contacted the ********** Service Engineer and was advised that is a normal characteristic of the transmission and to not attempt further repairs at this time. If the customer would like to look at trading the truck in, we can absolutely look at that and do our best to take care of the customer. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:

The truck always down shifted into 2nd gear until they figured out how to by pass 2nd gear to prevent the hard down shift. That's not fixing the problem that's taking gears away from the truck to avoid the problem. Talking with others you have a 2020 or newer superduty 10 speed. Every single one of those trucks still use 2nd gear on the down shift. My truck isn't right and I want it fixed. I have talk to other **** dealers and they even say that doesn't seem right. So I guess if the truck has a hard down shift in **************** you guys will just take that gear away also? I guess before to long I'll be back down to six gears. This is getting old you guys know it's not right and can drive any other truck to confirm they all use second gear except mine. **** needs to stop playing games and fix these trucks rather than trying to avoid the problem. ****** problem with the hard down shift from 3rd to 2nd on 2020 superduty you will find a lot of them with transmission problems

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I am sorry to hear the customer has rejected our response. Below is an email we sent directly to the customer that explains what our Ford engineer partners are communicating regarding the shifting in his truck.

The noted shifting concern appears to be normal operation of the vehicle and sounds comparable to similar units with the same calibration. The transmission will adapt the shift strategy based on learned behavior over drive cycles. This learned strategy may result in undesirable shifting characteristic (harsh shifts for example) if drastic changes are made to driving conditions until it is given time to relearn. Shifting concerns as a result of learned behavior are not detrimental to transmission or driveline durability. If a serious concern is present with the transmission a DTC should be set and the condition would remain present or potentially be more evident (as it can often compensate for some concerns) when learned strategy is cleared. Additionally, the transmission will optimize shifting patterns for best performance based on learned behavior, drive modes, and settings which may result in the skipping of gears. The 10 speed transmission gear ratios are generally spaced very close together to offer finely tuned performance, as such it often results in skipped gears during operation, most notably acceleration/deceleration events, when it is determined that sequential shifting is not necessary.

Nothing has been attempted to fix vehicle. So as I stated before the vehicle doesn't have second gear when downshifting.

Just as we have stated numerous times, we followed the specific instructions by ****************** and were told the transmission is working as they designed it. We were specifically told their is no repair to be made. We have clearly communicated this to the customer directly and via this website. The customer took their car back about a month ago and stated they were going to another shop. There is nothing more we can do with this specific issue. Thank you.

Like I said before had a hard down shift from 3rd gear to 2nd gear awesome Ford tried to fix the hard down shift multiple times. First tried to do a update didn't work and then rebuilt valve body didn't and then replaced valve body with a new didn't work. The last try was to reprogram truck so it won't use 2nd gear at all now while down shifting. So rather than replacing the transmission they took out 2nd gear on the down shift to avoid the hard down shift

Awesome Ford in ******** SUCKS!!! We found our vehicle online, did everything online, drove over an hour to go get...had to more or less do our own financing. We got a 13 day payoff for our trade, instead of the 10 day they wanted. They still did not get the trade paid off on time, and we had to pay the difference. Then, we also told them MULTIPLE times we had disabled veteran plates we needed to transfer. We told them MULTIPLE times to transfer disabled vet plates it costs less than $75, and we do not pay any other tax, including a *** tax that is in our area. They still added the over $900 to our loan, and we said we would just get the overage check when registration comes in. Well, they never did the transfer of the disabled vet plates, and we got charged almost $800 for the *** tax, and the almost $200 tag fee. They never did the transfer, and new tags were assigned. NOW, we got screwed with over $900, added to the loan, and have to now go to the **** and pay the transfer fee, of less than $75, to transfer my disabled vet plates!
