The shortest explanation.*uring the first week of August 2021 I called Salas plumbing needing help with a plugged drain field. His wife said I needed an open * box before you could come out. I am 84 and I have a cancer with medication that destroys muscle so I hired people to find the * box with no luck. I endured this nasty mess for two weeks and a plumber showed up unannounced . Without any authorization or explanation he brought a bubbler machine in, I He then announced that his equipment was broken waiting repairs and he could not help me. So why did he come out un announced? For 20 minutes of useless active work I received a bill for over$1000.00 and now extended to include interest for the presence of a hot water half inch tube kitchen drain cleaner. Using the wrong useless equipment for a simple short measurement or to pretend to clean a large sewer drain field implies a scam. That use was not authorized in any way and not my responsibility. Salas simply put a half inch tube in the large drain for a few brief minutes, retracted it and went home.. It was obvious to all three of us that this was a useless tool. Salas plumbing also knew this in advance How does a consumer protect themselve from fraud like this?I should have received a call encouraging me to call someone with useful cleaning equipment not a phony plumbing visit. I am aware that this is a billing trick used by Salas plumbing on other of its customers. It needs to be exposed and his billing procedures audited.I was told by the wife of the Salas plumber January 5, 2022 that If I was unhappy that I owed nothing and I offered to pay just an hourly wage of $159.00 plus tax to settle the issue. Since Salas chose not to cash that check or send me any invoice or bill in any month of 2022 I considered the matter settled. Then, I received a debt collector statement in January 2023 for $1219.79. Please help Sincerely, *******************************Initial Complaint

We had a leak in our crawl space with some pex piping, and we called Salas to see if they could repair it. They came out on 6/9/22, and it took them over 5 hours to repair it. They had to go back to their shop (30 minutes away) because they didnt have a part they needed. They charged us $765.27: $650.00 in labor, and $56.62 in parts, which included driving time back to their shop. My husband went into the crawl space on Sept. 1, and noticed that the repair was leaking. The rust on the fitting shows that it has been leaking for quite some time. We immediately called Salas and left a message. This leak produced around 2 gallons of water in a 24 hour period. I called on Sept. 2 and 3, and left messages again. This was Labor Day weekend. We didnt call on Sunday or Monday (the 4th and 5th). I called again on Tuesday, Sept. 6, and ******* answered. I explained the situation, and that we wanted them to come look at it because they repaired it, and she said she would text me and let me know when they would be here. They didnt call or text that day. I called them on Sept. 7, and they didnt answer. She sent me a text and said they would be there the next afternoon. I sent her a text around 11:45 on Sept. 8 letting her know that I was home and waiting. Nobody showed up. I called and left a message saying that we would really like to get them out to fix this, and if they are unable to do so, then let me know so that I can get someone else out, as the leak was substantial and needed to be fixed. I didnt receive a call back. My husband called on Friday, Sept. 9, and they once again did not answer. We ended up calling a different plumber, who told us that they used a fitting that could not be tightened, and that it was incorrectly installed, which caused it to fail. He repaired it with the correct pex that matches what we have in our home and it hasnt been an issue since. We are simply asking that they would reimburse us the price it costs us to have it repaired.Business response

We are sorry to hear this but Salas drain and sewer can not guarantee what costumers do to the parts that we install. After we have left the home we know our job was completed. If this costumer is upset for them having to pay for us getting additional parts Im sorry but there are many different types of lines we could be repairing we can not physically have every possible part on hand in one work pick up so sorry that they had to pay there bill. Nor was There any rust on the parts installed we saw no visible water that they claim to be leaking. Again Im sorry about their problems in their home, Salas will not take ownership for their home and the problems associated with it.
