We signed a contract with Bigfoot Construction sewer and drain 7/25/2023 and handed them a $25,000 cash deposit for a kitchen remodel . They knocked down two walls in our home without permits. The "engineer" they brought in never gave us paperwork either. They also hired a non certified electrician, Temo, to work on our home. He seemed lost, so we asked him how long he has been working for ***** and **** and how long he was doing electrical, and he said he worked for bigfoot for 10 to 12 years. He then quit with a letter the next day. Upon further investigation, we found out he is not certified, licensed, or bonded. Also, **** from Bigfoot told him that we knew this. We did not! We kept asking about the permits, and they said they had they had them, yet we never saw any paperwork. My brother brought it to my attention that they should have been posted on a wall. We found out they failed to apply for them. We also kept asking for an itemized list of where we were in our budget, **** kept putting it off and would not give us anything after 1 month of this, they then tried to get $27,318.42 more from us for cabinets, and we refused to hand over any more funds until we got our paperwork and the permits. We called all current electrical. They came to our home and found a few fire hazards as well as things, not even up to code.We immediately fired Bigfoot and asked for our money back. they refused. We then found out from our friend that they have been working under a suspended license. We just want our money back at least $20,000. I filed a PR with the city of Auburn.
