In the spring of 2021 my husband and I met with ***********************, owner operator of Upland Developers, a general contractor in Whatcom County, ********, **. After getting our ducks in a row we hoped to engage ****************** as our contractor for building a residence on our land in ********, **. Long story short our project is stalled, perhaps indefinitely, not in small part due to the fact that ****************** never provided us with a bid which we then could have taken to our construction loan officer to get the ball rolling on our loan and building permits with the county. ****************** and my husband exchanged emails from the spring of 2021 to late winter 2022. ****************** thinks that these emails are "proof" that we have an agreement with him when in fact all they prove is that ****************** never provided any service to us, never provided the requested bid, and never did any work on the project and we never signed any contract or agreement with him; he cannot provide proof of this. We never applied for building permits with the county and never broke ground on the project. All ****************** did was dummy up a fraudulent invoice for $1,585.56 dated March 22, 2022, and demand payment. The fraudulent invoice says he provided site and pole building plans when he in fact did not provide these. My husband **** up a preliminary building site sketch himself and my husband's sister took that and **** up the building sites using professional software, this is referred to in one of the email exchanges. ****************** has since engaged a debt collector, ************************* LLC in **********, **. We have filed a separate BBB complaint about this debt collector who engages in unethical business practices.
