On 2/21/20** at approximately 10 AM we went to pick up our ***** Element at Pilchuck Automotive after being called and told that it was ready for pick up. We had dropped off our car and car keys earlier in the week and hired them to put in a catalytic converter. We paid them $2,492. Then our car was driven from their fenced lot to the front of the business for my husband to take possession. Immediately when getting into the car he noticed that it had been vandalized. Every nook and cranny had been ransacked and searched with everything strewn throughout the car. This car is my husband's hiking car and there were minimal items in it. Immediately he went back into the office and asked what had happened. The employee stated that their lot had been car prowled on 2/17 with a SnoCo Sherriff's report #**/274. My husband expressed his concern about the condition of the inside of our car and the probability that items were missing. The employee, *****, said sorry but that we were lucky that they had left the car unlocked in the fenced lot because if it had been locked, the windows would likely have been broken out. This implied to us that the car prowl incident had occurred before. My husband expressed his concern and displeasure and told ***** that he would be in contact. We discussed the matter and decided that we thought that it was only right that Pilchuck Automotive pay for our car to be detailed and to replace a sentimental walking stick as well as $20 that we keep in the car for emergency gas money. ***** said that was not going to happen. We then asked for ***** to contact the owner and to have her contact us. We waited until 4 PM. No contact by the owner. We then drove back to see if any of our possessions were strewn about the fenced car lot. No luck. Pilchuck Automotive did fix our car. However, they did not keep it secure in their fenced lot or return our car in the condition that we left it. Their business practices are dishonest and unprofessional,
