    We hired this company for our wedding on 07/26/2022. Our first installment of payments to the company was January 2022, and secured our date. During this time communication was going well. The closer we got to our wedding the harder it was to get ahold of the owner, ********. We had a walkthrough at the venue scheduled for June 15th that she had stated she would attend, After she was over half an hour late we finally received a response that she was not going to be attending and her assistant was supposed to contact us. The next couple weeks we kept getting told that her assistant was supposed to help us with all the questions that weren't answered when she did finally respond. We had to repeatedly reach out, and received unfulfilled promises about when we'd get our final quote for the catering cost to the point where our payment was late because we had no idea how much we needed to pay. The day of the wedding the catering was over an hour late, and requested to serve dinner an hour late because they didn't bring everything they needed. Our $300 cake was stored improperly by the caterer and started to fall apart, and they shoved a small bouquet bundle into it's broken area which looked awful. All of the linens were unacceptable. Nearly every single one was stained upon arrival and our day of coordinator had to try to cover up the stains with table arrangements with limited time. She had the audacity to behave like she was doing us a favor for not charging us for linens she claims we damaged and give us our full $100 deposit back. Since then, it's been scarce contact FULL of excuses as to why I haven't received my refund nearly four weeks later. I paid by *** and she's saying it got rejected after waiting two weeks to even bother claiming that she was going to send it. The food was good, but for $5883 and the poor service I received I should have gone elsewhere. I want my deposit back, and compensation for services weren't fulfilled as expected when contracted.

    Where do I even start? If I could rate Bear Country Catering 0 stars, I would. It was an absolute awful experience working with ******** and team. Her poor business managment skills, lack of communication, and ability to make up an excuse for every issue is just the start. It was so bad working with ******** and this company that we were reaching out to other catering companies days before our wedding in an effort to ensure we were going to have food. Below is a few of the issues we had with this business for our August 2022 wedding. - Zero communication after paying deposit. - Excuse for every issue in not being able to communicate. - 30 min late arriving to venue for wedding - They forgot knives for our 200 guests - Ran out of drink cups that they were supplying within 5 minutes of serving - Half the staff that was promised - They forgot table runners - Unprofessional staff Saving the best for last. We had 40 people that DID NOT eat. We were notified the morning of the wedding that guests would need to serve themselves for everything but meat, that was not our original plan. The sides ran out so quickly and the meat was not served to 40 people. We paid for 220 people. Called ******** multiple times the week before to let her know that we would be more around 200. (Trying to be courteous) We had 194 folks show up and still they still ran out. At the end of the day, save yourself the awful experience my wife and I had to go through and find someone else to cater your event.
