In august of 2023 I was told I would have a 2 bedroom apartment ready end of September, I gave a deposit of $1075. By November I still did not have an apartment. She gave me a rental agreement for an apartment i did not move into with a date I did not move in so she could receive the rental assistance from HRC. I was told it was because the one I was holding had bedbugs. By December I finally was able to move in to an apartment. The next day I informed the manager it had roaches. Apparently it had bed bugs still also. Tho I was assured I wouldnt be moving into the one that had bedbugs. I informed the manager I wanted to move out. The total paid was $4025 I was to receive a refund of that minus the days I lived there. It was not a cleaned turned over apartment the carpet wasnt cleaned and nothing was fixed even the toilet wasnt working and black hair dye in tub. I was told I could have my deposit the day I moved out. I left December ********************************************** turning over of the apartment was done. Ive asked every day for the refund and told every day I would receive it by the end of the day. I still have not received it. I considered the manager a friend so Im deeply hurt by this. I currently live in a one bedroom in park ridge apartments. Last year in February of 2023 I Paid the property manager ************************* a deposit for a 2 bedroom apartment in the amount of $750 to secure the apartment. It is now January of ************************************************************ date of the 2 bedroom. When I asked ****** for my deposit back in December of 2023 she said I will get it back when I move out of my current one bedroom. I have 2 autistic children, one of which is currently wheel chair bound and living in deplorable living conditions. With no working fire alarms, Co2 censor, and a hole in the wall by the ****** box that was cut out by the maintenance men to replace said ****** box in 2022 and is still not fixed. ****** is breaking the law and is taking advantage of a single mother with disabled children living on disability. She robs " ***** to pay ****" IE; she will take someone's deposit for an apartment saying they will move in the next month. After she has your money it's gone. She cannot provide bank info for where it's stored or proof of having the money at all and never provides a future move in date and will ignore you if you try to request her help. She's breaking more than housing laws.
