I hired First Choice Restoration to clean and restore my home in June 2023, the original estimate was $35,217.79 They never completed the job per our contract. They stalled working on my house so I fired them in November and hired a new company to come in to complete the job. During the time that they were restoring my house they never completed things that they said they did. I have found several damaged items and incomplete work. When asked for an itemized statement they refuse to furnish one. They are still claiming that I owe them $21,775.72. I refuse to pay them as they did not complete the job per contract and are in breach. If anything I feel they owe me money back for damaged items and incomplete work.

Around February, my father in law filed a claim with ******************* about a basement flood. They recommended 1st Choice restoration, and it has been a disaster. After improperly taking asbestos samples, which they left us in the dust for 4 days. They have ruined part of the property, and our personal property( we are tenants). They neglected to alert us of major problems, IE Mold on all the insulation ( which they just sprayed with bleach and put dry wall up less than 24 hrs after doing so.) a leaking water line ( which my husband replaced on his day off). I only discovered when I went to take care of plants, and now they are fighting with ******** about the carpet they( 1st choice) ruined on the stairs and in our daughters bedroom. where they stored sewage soaked bathroom/ laundry room fixtures without removing her personal belongings, and on her bed, so her stuff is completely ruined. When I brought up this atrocity, and showed pictures they said it wasn't in the original bid. So we could remove the non abated sewage soaked carpet ourselves, and they would let us know how much the labor would be to put down new flooring. We chose loose lay flooring which is is in-between the price they gave us to replace the carpet and tile. They are trying to charge us $3,600 for labor, and are at a stale mate with ********. We have been forced into choosing carpet, and also now being told it will be another month before we can go back, We have been gone since the middle of May, and our 4 kids are in distress. I'm afraid our youngest may need therapy, it doesn't help my husband is out of town 5 days a week. Nor that the workers brought children with them who not only played with Toys in the upstairs but ruined some things, and then moved all of the stuff in the front room where they had no business being. This 6 week project has turned into 4 months. I have photos of everything.
