    I hired ********************* to install gates on my property. I paid him half upfront for materials, $2,063.40, that check cleared on March 21. He assured us the gates would be installed in mid April. On May 20th, he arrived with his crew and they began installing the gates. I expressed my concerns with the lack of quality and craftsmanship on the gates not matching the pictures he showed us. They hung the gates and were supposed to return with latches. After they left boards began falling off of the gates. Some boards were not stained or lacquered and they bowed so badly from the rainfall we've had that they broke. The lacquer was applied so poorly that it is bubbling up and coming off. The two door gate overlaps and will not close because they didn't measure it correctly. I told ***** my concerns and he simply stated that he would bring longer screws for the boards. He never offered any solution to the other issues. When I asked via text how that was going to fix the other issues he ignored me. I told him I don't trust that he can fix everything that is wrong with the gates and stay on budget. I asked him for receipts of the parts and materials and to simply come and get his gates and refund me the balance. Again, he ignored me. Finally when we returned from out of town on Monday, May 30th, the side gate had broken off the hinges. The hinges were not welded on properly, I sent pictures to welding engineers in the area and they confirmed that the welds never even penetrated the weld plate. This damaged my block wall and could have seriously injured someone as the gate weighs in excess of 200 pounds. When I sent these pictures to ***** he simply told me that he is not responsible for vandalism and custom gates are not refundable. He also stated that he no longer wants to work with me. I assure you this was not vandalism. We checked our homes cameras and there wasn't anyone in our yard that weekend. I can provide more pictures and copies of the text messages if needed.
