On May 1st evening, when we arrived a comfort inn, ********, we check-in 2 night (there is no phone or online booking). On May 2rd morning, for special reason, we had to check-out, but comfort Inn management rejected to refund 1 night fee.Initial Complaint

comfort inn located at ************************************* RESERVATION #******* I booked my reservation for the 2-5 of December 2021 for my 1st time ever trip to *******, I decided on comfort inn ($389.19 total for the stay),I was very excited to visit for the first time and to celebrate my 30th birthday. Unexpectedly 3 days after booking, my father passed away. I contacted comfort inn on 11/23 explained my hardship to front desk and was told only a manger would be able to decide if they could do anything about refunding my reservation or modifying it. (My reservation was a non refundable price), I was also told this location only has one manager that works from 11pm to 7am and his name is *****, I was told a note would be placed in the system and I would be called back. I waited and waited and never received a callback. I call today and was told the same thing by the same front desk rep as last time. I decide to stay up late regardless that I have work early tomorrow to be able to speak with ***** the manager. I get ahold of him tonight and explain and he immediately lets me know unfortunately there is nothing he can do. I ask if there can be an exception made given the circumstances and he responds no. I asked him for a corporate number and he gladly provides it. I call and reach an agent named ***** and again I explain my current situation but before I could finish he cuts me off and says the policy clearly states there will be no refunds provided regardless of any circumstances but says h*** connect me to a department that might help and take off some days were his exact words. I waited 30 minutes on hold and I gave up. After all of this I want to point out that I spoke to 3 people who represent Choice hotels and that not 1 of them after hearing what I had to say gave any ******************** of the company or even as a human to human, not one. I wont make the trip as I now must cover burial expenses and plan a service during my birthday and holidays.
