I applied for renters relief over 2 years ago. I've been waiting patiently. For over a year it said my case was under admin review. I've done everything they have asked of me. I checked the status about 2 months ago, but now says my case is under qc review. I know alot of people that got this assistance. They just recently got a 2md check because renters relief had xtra funding. I e tried to call, all I get is a call center. They dont tell me anything that I cant see for myself. This money was to help me to not get evicted, but since I've been evicted and no one wants to rent to someone with an eviction. I've been homeless on the streets. Its winter right now, and I feel like it's all there fault. I take very little responsibility. I should of never trusted they would help. I know some people did get helped but I know alot more that got screwed waiting for them to help. They dont have any way to contact them except for that stupid call centerInitial Complaint

This complaint is regarding ** rent relief program. I've been waiting over a year and half for an update on the status of my application and call in regularly on a weekly basis only to be told theory thing is to keep waiting. I finally get an email regarding my application being denied due to no proof of residency and no response after multiple attempts to contact. Not once has anyone reached out to me via phone, email or through the portal messaging center, which I've been messaging them every two weeks. Everything that has been requested by them I've submitted and was told multiple times tha everything looks good on my behalf and to just wait for them to process my application. This program is severely flawed and no one is able to help whatsoever even after the lawsuit against them has been settled. It seems like they just send denial notices hoping no one will respond instead of actually doing there job. Something needs to be done. Please help. Thank you.Initial Complaint

I applied for rent relief on July 16, 2021. Got approved and payment was disbursed. But the night before my deposit bill.com voided my payment and gave no explanation at that time. They instructed me to get the payment reissued by the program. I later found out that bill.com had it's own underwriting and assesses risk even for rent relief recipients. Eventhough there is no risk to bill.com. They are only there to facilitate the payment. The underwriting comes from the program. I contacted the program about getting my payment reissued and shortly after received my second award letter stating "Final Decision." However, before I could receive disbursement I was placed in a "Program Evaluation" and ultimately denied. My first appeal was denied in less than one week without consideration. I have been given a second appeal but have been stuck on "Appeal Submitted" for months. I was able to see me case audit and it states that I was suspected of fraud due to double payment. My first award payment was disbursed but was voided. I don't think the money was ever returned to the program. If that's the case, then someone got the funds I was guaranteed.Initial Complaint

I filled for Covid rent relief in October of 2021 I provided all supporting documentation showing that My family and I qualified.I received a pay or quit from my landlord shortly after which i immediately provided to the program.I have two children and have been frequently told that having an eviction notice as well as kids would expedite the process.I have contacted the rent relief program at least twice a week since signing up and have not once spoken to a person assigned to my case. I have managed to work with my landlord each of the many times ive received pay or quit notices as well as turning them in to the rental relief site only to get the same response as Ive gotten from the start my application is being reviewed.I know many people that recieved there funds in 4 months its now going on a year and 4 months and eviction pending notices and nothing is being done ! I feel like they are not taking my life seriously now that the rent relief situation is no longer in the public eye they have just stopped bothering .Im now seriously on the verge of being evicted no more chances and I cant get any help or even a real response. Ive done my part and more now that no one cares they are just denying peoples claims without any real cause and Im afraid thats whats going to happen anytime now and no one will care because its no longer news worthy! This is my life and my childrens the government supplied this money for exactly whats happened to us but we cant get anyone to do there job! The worst part is not knowing a thing for over a year when people that arent even American citizens have received help! Ive payed taxes and lived here my whole life and need help and cant get it or even any kind of time frame nothing ! Ive provided all supporting documentation they have copies of everything I can provide that to you as well if necessary! Any kind of help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I was sent a Covid 19 rental assistance check from ************** on June 29 2022..the check was stolen out of my mailbox and cashed..I never saw the check I have reported this over 5 times to **************.no one gets back to me I have reported it to the ************* the police **** and to the Gov of Calif no one will help me to replace my checkInitial Complaint

Covid Rent Relief has found a loophole for denying applications even though they are court ordered to place a halt on all denials. I applied for relief in beginning of March and was approved for both pg&e payment and for rent relief payment in Aug. They emailed me approval award letters stating my pg&e is paid but give them up to 2 weeks for pg&e to receive it but it is has since been almost 2 months with non payment. They also sent me an award letter back in beginning of Aug stating how much my rent relief payment will be and that the check will be mail out with the next batch of payments. I have called the support line asking how much longer and every agent had a different answer for me, so I told them how frustrating this has been for me and how this program is a failure. I guess they didnt like that because the next day upon checking my account status I noticed the status went from pending payment back to application under review. This is so upsetting to me how they can get away with this disgusting behavior. This is their loophole way of denying applicants even though they were court ordered not to deny anyone.Initial Complaint

I got a approved for Covid relief October of 2021 I have not received my psi have been having payment issues. I call frequently to get updates on when I can expect my payment. They keep telling me to email the relief team the relief team has stopped responding to my emails and the customer service states they cant help I have to email the relief team. The hotel has called the police to get me removed because Im far behind in my payments I have verbally expressed this to the relief team multiple timesInitial Complaint

Good morning my name is ***************************** My case id ********************************* applied for the rent relief back in March Im now homeless attending online school from my car which is about to brake down Ive been waiting for weeks calling 7 days a week waiting for a case manager to email me or call me. I called they told em Im on the last step for review how could this be if I havent even spoke with a Case manager I have a sick grandma I have to take care of during the day but cant live with her because she lives in a 55+ apartment She has no income other than SSI I help her with food and paying whatever she cant afford but lately its been draining Im starting to flunk out my classes and I was a couple semester from passing I know my dad (rip) would be very upset with me right now its just hard times Im praying this message can help me speed my case up because I submitted all the proper paper work Im assuming thats why no case manager was involved Everytime I call this past month there telling me Im at the last step for review so lets hope everything is alright but this has me in a deep dark depression stage Ive had to do therapy session just to get through these hard times sometimes I just want to give up I just hope for an update
