I put in my vacancy letter 3/10/23 and left the upcoming week. Prior to leaving the premises I was told that me and other parties that coexisted in the complex where told that everyone was responsible for the balance at first. That why initially I decided to help pay a bit when I left. Months later around mind **** I reached out to see what was going on. Since there was no contact or anything from the complex. I asked about the balance and got informed by ****** that I didn't owe a balance. Nor was my name on any of the documents since I was released from being main lease holder. She also told me that they could not talk to me about anything about the apartment since I don't live there. Following with the they can't make me pay anything and I asked if I was still responsible I got told no since I left before everyone else there. I asked her to send that to me in writing she said sure thing. Follow that I never received any documentation from the place. Yet, when I kept making a effort to get any rental history from them since I've been back home living with my dad ******* the other leasing lady said I owe them money when I was told that i didn't. It's affecting my ability to get into a new area and it's affecting my lively hood as well. They constantly doge my calls and never sent me a email, mail or anything. It took multiple people to reach out to them about the matter. I want it resolved I was told I didn't owe or have to pay them anything since I left first and I want a statement with that being included.

      Hello,

Resident was aware that assistance was covered for 2/3 of rent (for other occupants on lease) and that 1/3 would be his responsibility regardless of moving out. When signing notice to vacate form indicated that resident intended to pay balance off 6/23/23. Payment was not received. Notice included with resident information removed.

      Thank you,

I never bought out my lease with College Pointe Apartments and paid all rent for the entirety of the leases contract. The Lease Buy-out charge of $2,310.00 is erroneous and therefor the difference having gone to Columbia Debt Recovery is invalid. I have bank statements proving this. I attempted to settle things multiple times with the the apartments, the debt recovery company, and the property management company.

      Hello,

Residents moved out 4/30/20 and a move out walk was completed on 5/1/2020 (walk notes attached with resident info removed). Residents Ledger attached (with residents info removed), with notes for clearer picture of where funds were applied and charges. Residents did make a payment in April (applied towards April rent) and in May a payment was made and applied towards the move out totals as May rent/utilities/animal rent was not charged, additionally June rent/utilities/animal rent was not charged. Due to receiving keys 4/30/20 and lease ending 6/30/20 lease buyout fee was charged and full payment for buy out was not received. After funds on hand and deposit was applied a balance remained for what was not covered.

I was told I needed to give a deposit to hold my apartment. Tried to pay the 200$ deposit in cash. Was told they don't accept cash. Was told to get a money order to make refunds easier if the deal fell through. It fell through. I have since learned it is illegal for them to ask for a holding deposit. It has been a month and no return of my deposit as of yet.I will be filling a small claims suit.Thank you for your time.Have a great day Sincerely *********************

Hello Resolution Specialist, thank you for providing the details on the concerns for a refund being issued. There was no hesitation to return the administrative holding fee (not to be confused with a deposit that is asked for at move-in, not at the time of applying). An application was received on 4/8/22, the admin/hold was paid on 4/11/22, and on 4/19/22 it was determined that the apartment was not going to work out and the applicant was eligible for the admin/hold to be refunded and the plan was to pick up on 4/20/22. When the applicant arrived and signed off on receiving the money order on 4/20/22 he left the office at approximately 9:20 AM and returned around 10:40 AM stating it could not be returned to the place of purchase since the payee was listed as 'College Pointe'. (No other applicants that did not work out have had issues getting a refund on a money order). An offer to deposit the admin/hold payment and have the corporate office cut a check to be mailed to the current address was provided and refused due to the applicant demanding cash only. Our office does not have the option to provide cashback as we simply provide the original payment back. The money order was left in the office and during the documentation process of notating that the money order was not picked up on the original signed form, the form was taken by the applicant. On 4/24/22 an email was received stating that the applicant would be picking up cash only at 1pm on 4/25/22. The applicant did not show up on 4/25 and on 4/27 the money order was deposited so a refund could be provided through our corporate office as a check in the applicant's name to the current address. This check was paid on 4/28/22 at 9:53 AM. No further resolution should be required as the applicant will be receiving a refund for the admin/hold via mail. Kindly, ***************************- Community Director
