When moving out of these apartments I spent days vacuuming, steam cleaning, patching, and painting walls and doors. I have kids and had a dog so the carpets got fairly messed up. I was never told that I owed a balance, even called them a few months later asking about my security deposit and gave them my new address. They said if I was owed money they would send it in the mail. I never received anything so I figured the carpet had to be replaced and they took my deposit. Fast forward a year and a half, Im living in a new place, check my credit and they sent a balance to collections that I have no knowledge of. They never contacted me or told me I owed anything and messed up my credit. It isnt fair to report that I have bad payment history when they never gave me a bill.Business response

The former residents move out out was processed and forwarded according to **************** Law. The move out paperwork was forwarded to the address that this resident had filled out and signed on their vacating paperwork.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I dont recall any paperwork signed when moving out. I was on a month to month and gave my 20 day notice via email. If there was paperwork that I signed with my address I would like to see it. They got my new address when I called 3 months later to ask about my security deposit. Why would I inquire about my security deposit if I thought I owed a balance? I lived in the new place for a year and never received paperwork, an email, or a phone call. I also paid for mail forwarding so there should be no reason why I wouldnt get it. Im not the first tenant this has happened to. The reviews online tell the story.Sincerely,

The former residents move out was processed and forwarded according to **************** Law. The move out paperwork was forwarded to the address that this resident had filled out and personally signed, on their vacating paperwork. The 20 day notice that was turned into the office (not emailed) had the forwarding address that the resident personally notated and signed.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I want to see the paperwork that I signed. I never sent any paperwork to The Timbers. I waited for mail from them the whole time I lived in the new place. I never received anything. I called them to give them the new address. I was living an hour away so that was the easiest way to contact. I asked for the paperwork last response I rejected and they have still failed to provide it.

I am rejecting this response because:The forwarding address changed. I called to let them know I had a new address and they said they would send it if I was owed anything. They sent the mail to the wrong address. I also request proof that the bill was sent to me within the required time required by **************** law. Also, I request The Timbers apartments look further into the bill because rent was paid before moving out by ********************* with her name on the check

I am rejecting this response because:I received a notice to vacate or pay. I paid the rent current. I gave 20 days notice. Paid last months rent July 30th. After moving out I never received a bill or notified that I owe. That being said, a credit score is supposed to reflect how you are as a borrower. And if I never got a bill it should never have been sent to collections. Again, I want the proof that a bill was sent out with the dates and I want the account to be removed from my credit report. It was very unfair to ruin my credit when I had no knowledge of a balance.
