Took my truck in to have break inspection done on 8/17/22. Was quoted a crazy price for front break pads and rotors so I went to another shop for repair. My tire completely came off my truck while driving down i5 south on 8/25/22. ******************* confirmed they never touched the back tires on their free inspection. I called Hawks Prairie Automotive at 3:17 pm on 8/26/22 and was told YES all 4 wheels were taken of for their inspection and as soon as I told them what happened they started denying responsibility immediately. I was promised a call back later that day I never received then I called all day from open to close on 8/27/22 and got no answer. Today they claim they called and my number rang and rang and never went to voicemail, but my correct number is in fact on my invoice from this shop. They have done little to nothing to communicate with me and today are claiming they never took the tire off either. But just a few days ago I was told (on a recorded line, that yes, they took my tire off. My wheel has about $1000 worth of damage now that I want repaired.Business response

The service writer explained that yes we pull all four wheels in certain cases and told you that he needed to check the paper work, talk to the technician and see if we caught this on camera. In this case there was no reason to pull the rear wheels. You can see that the rear brake pads are ok and have plenty left on them through the wheel and did not pull the rear wheels. The reason the vehicle was here was for the brake pad warning light for the front brakes. The technician only inspected the front brakes and did a quick visual inspection of the rear brakes. The technician that looked at your vehicle has been doing this for a long time and knows the fastest way to inspect brakes. He will not do unnecessary actions that cost him more time. The service writer did try to call you on Friday night with no answer. He called on Monday with no answer. When he did talk to you you hung up on him and did not let him finish speaking. We will help the customer repair their vehicle and even discount the repair but we did not take the rear wheels off. It did go to ******************* maybe they left it loose.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. My truck has since been repaired fully, thanks to shop owner's response.
