Date of transaction: 10/20/23 Order #: ***** Order total: $72 Shipping cost: $52.50 I placed an order for a hillstream loach, a breeding pack of orange shrimp (3 males, 7 females), and 10 strawberry rasboras. I was originally browsing different shrimp shops, but saw that they had hillstream loaches and decided to buy. They had a listed policy that they required overnight shipping for live fish. I decided that since Id already be paying that, Id add 10 strawberry rasboras to my order as well. (They do not require overnight shipping for shrimp orders). Well- my order arrives and it is missing the hillstream loach. I hadnt heard a word from the shop: no notification that the fish was out of stock, no ask if I wanted to refund that fish, replace, or cancel the order. I was totally unaware until I received the order and saw that there was a missing item. (Additionally I was only counting 9 shrimp total, 1 being dead). Right off the bat I assumed it was an accident, so I reached out. The shop was not immediately upfront about the fact that they were out of stock of the fish, simply offering a refund or gift card for their shop. I asked them to just send me the fish? Because I am unwilling to spend another $50+ on shipping, when I already paid to ship this fish. The shop then informed me that they did not have any of the breed of fish at all, so they could not send me one. So now I am out over $60 for a fish I never got. I live in a major city and could easily go buy strawberry rasboras at any local fish store. I had ZERO reason to pay $50 for shipping if I had KNOWN I was paying for a fish they didnt even have. I am asking for a refund of the price of shipping that I paid in addition to the refund of the price of the loach.Business response

Hello,
I am sorry to hear that Scout Galash has had a problem with an on-line purchase of shrimp. However this claim has nothing to do with our former company, Big Shrimpy.
1) I see from the customer's statement that the date of transaction was 10/20/23. My husband and I formally closed our company on December 31, 2020. Big Shrimpy was not in business on the date of this transaction.
2) At no point in the history of our business did Big Shrimpy ever sell shrimp or any live animals. We designed, manufactured, and sold pet beds. If you ****** "Big Shrimpy" you will still see many photos of our pet beds. The customer purchased their live shrimp from some other company.
Thank you for clarifying to the customer and within ******************** records that this complaint against Big Shrimpy is baseless. Although our company has been closed for almost three years now, we still take pride in its solid reputation with our pet bed customers.
Sincerely,
*****************************

Hi Scout,
Thank you for expressing your opinions and explaining the situation.
Your order included 10 Orange Pumpkin Shrimp. 10 Strawberry Rasboras and 1 Hillstream loach.
We typically add in a free shrimp for each pack of 10. My colleague did inform you that you should have 10 living shrimp remaining despite the 1 DOA, and you did not respond to that comment so it was assumed that you received 10 living shrimp. If you had notified us that you only received 9, we would have gladly gave you credit for 1 Orange shrimp.
In regards to the Hillstream loach. Yes, we did ship your order without one fish and we apologize for that. We have also provided a refund for that fish ($12). However, your order still contained 10 other fishes that required Overnight shipping. If the HIllstream loach was the only fish in your order, we would have reached out to you to ask if you would prefer to downgrade to a cheaper shipping option. In this case, we would still have had to ship the order with overnight shipping because the order had 10 other fish in it. Therefore, the full refund for overnight shipping is not reasonable.
Thank you for your order, we are glad the rest of the animals arrived alive and well and we apologies again for missing 1 fish in your order.
