I left my car at Buds Auto Repair on Friday January 12, **** for a front end alignment. I was told it would cost about $130 after tax and they would call me when the car was ready to be picked up. They said they might have it done by that afternoon, otherwise they would call after the weekend. I called Buds Auto Repair on January 16, **** to inquire about vehicle and was told that the car needs further repairs before an alignment could be performed, so nothing had been repaired. They explained over the phone what repairs they felt the car needs and said it would be $2200 for them to do the work so I decided I would come pick the car up, as I don't have that much money right now. When we went to pick up the car they said I owe them $230 for the time they spent diagnosing the problem. When asked to provide original contract that was signed when the car was dropped off, they only provided a list of their suggested repairs that was printed the same day. When I tried to ask questions about the charges the guy just talked over me raising his voice and trying to be intimidating. Now they have my vehicle locked inside their building and are demanding money for services I never agreed to (diagnostic test) and never having repaired anything at all. I am a student and have no other transportation and had to miss classes because of this already. The car runs great and just pulls to the left a little bit on the freeway so I tried to be proactive and have the tires realigned. Now, for no reason, they refuse to return my vehicle.
