      We were sold a car that died the very next day. Failed transmission. So disappointing and unethical what they did to us.

      Hi **** in addressing your complaint in addition to the $690.00 credit card charge that was refunded to your credit card yesterday we also offered the balance of this transaction to be refunded upon the return of the vehicle within the next 72 hours. We would also be open to it being traded in for the same dollar amount within the same time frame. We are looking forward to resolving this unfortunate matter quickly so we can all move forward.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I have already spoke with the owner on the phone re: this refund offer.  It is unacceptable, and he knows why.  His response to you came after we spoke today.  Please let me elaborate.  My son lives in ******, **.  We purchased a car he saw online from **********, **.  It was a 5 hour drive to get there.  The transmission on this car failed on within 24 hours of purchase.  It is no longer drivable.  The owner requested my son have the car towed back to the dealership so he could process the refund of the remaining $1900.  I got a quote for that tow; $1,611.72 from Evergreen in ******.  It requires 6 hours of towing, 150+ miles of driving, including a ***** minute ferry ride.  My son, who is on the Asbergers spectrum, has saved for months to get a car like this.  It is a 1972 ***** wagon.  Not perfect, but advertised as running and not advertised as a project car as the owner claimed on the phone.  The owners business is under an LLC.  The LLC also has a transportation and towing business.  I feel like they are trying to get the car back, put more additive in it and resell it to the next poor kid looking for a cheap car.

      The car needs to go to a junk yard.  The dealership can recoup some money from the scrapping of the car - like maybe $500.  IT DOES NOT MOVE WITHOUT REVVING, GRINDING, SLIPPING and STALLING. The only resolution for us is to have a certified check for $1900 sent to my son and for **** (owner) to have a scrap hauler pick up the car from my sons driveway, where it now sits - inoperable. He also sold this car to my son without seatbelts in the back seat (there should be THREE!) and that is illegal in the state of **.  The person who went on the test drive with us conveniently sat in back (when I offered to do so) so we would not notice the missing seatbelts!  I have already explained to **** that he needs to refund the $1900 to my son so next steps dont need to be reporting him to DOL and AGs office.  That is the only reason why he is offering the refund (if we deliver the jalopy).  He has agreed to the refund, with unreasonable strings attached.  Why would we pay $1600 to have a car towed to get $1900 back (and within 72 hours or the offer is declined, per ****).  Also, **** has asked for ZERO proof that my son has a problem with the car.  You would think he would want a video?  He does not need proof because he knows it is junk.

      Please help.  This is wrong on so many levels.  The two old dudes at this business should be setting a better example for a young person (my son) on how business should be handled.

      Sincerely,

      ****************************;

      Hi, I am so sorry, but I just realized that my reject response to you tonight included the incorrect year vehicle!  The vehicle mentioned in my response for #******** is actually a 1982 ***** wagon, not 1972.  Thank you.

      Hello,
      I dont know if the business has responded, or will even bother to take the time. They did provide a refund for the remainder of the cost of the vehicle, minus $550 for towing. You can close this case. Thank you for your time. ****
