I went to bring my 2022 ****** tundra to Marysville ****** to get the windshield replace. They contract with this glass company to replace my windshield. In the process this company made a scratch on the body of the truck causing to rust. They did not notify me or the dealer on what they did. Instead I found out on my own. When the dealer contacted them, they admitted to the issue. It cost me $1085 to get a new windshield because the rust that occurred cause the windshield to crack. (See pictures)Business response

We (Glass Fix) were contacted via e-mail by Marysville ****** on August 21,2023 about a windshield we replaced on October 4th, 2022. The customer had a rock chip in the middle of the windshield that proceeded to web to the top of the windshield (as seen in the picture attached).
The defect in the paint was caught because of the need to replace the windshield.
If a rock chip is not properly sealed over time due to exposure to different weather, the glass will begin to web and crack. This is what transpired for this vehicle.
At the time of being notified because of the length of time there is no way to say for fact that my company is responsible, however we want to always take care of the customer first.
I had a company come onsite to Marysville ****** to take care of the marks in the paint and return it to a like new condition. I was also assured by the sublet company that the proper steps were taken to ensure that the integrity of the paint was taken care of for the customer so that there was no further chance of rust on the body of the vehicle. I took care of this for the customer out of good will.
The crack in the windshield was not due to the rust of the paint, it was due to the rock chip in the middle towards the passenger side of the windshield. This is why our company does not warranty anything due to road hazard (i.e. rock chip).Customer response
