            On February 3, 2017, BBB received a report from a consumer through BBB’s Scam Tracker alleging Domestic Pet Transport is a pet transport scheme.  The consumer reported to BBB that he answered an online ad regarding a horse adoption.  The seller offered to waive adoption fees as long as the consumer paid for the transportation of the horse.  The consumer was referred to Domestic Pet Transport because the seller had used them to transport her own animals.  The consumer was asked to pay $1600 as an initial fee.  After the consumer complied, the company allegedly demanded more money for vet costs.  The consumer tried to reach the company by phone and email but was unsuccessful.  The company has stopped responding to the consumer.

            BBB found the address listed on their website belongs to the Port of Olympia.  BBB confirmed the business is not registered with Washington State.  In addition, the logo on the website which features a sun and bird, belongs to Pet Express.  The website states the company is a division of All Pet Travel who is a member of IPATA.  BBB has confirmed with the owner of All Pet Travel that this statement is not true.  According to WhoIS, the website was created on 1/7/2017.  BBB called the business’ phone number and left a message.  BBB has also reached out to the company by email and is awaiting a reply.

            On March 13, 2017, BBB received a second consumer report stating the company had changed their name, website, email and address to Domestic Pet Travel, www.domesticpettravel.com, now advertising their address as 7643 Old Highway 99 SE, Olympia, WA 98501. The advertised phone number is the same as Domestic Pet Transport. BBB has confirmed the address belongs to the Olympia Regional Airport. The logo, photos and text on the website belong to World Pet Travel, found at www.movepet.com.  Although the business claims to be a member of International Pet and Animal Transport Association (IPATA), BBB has also confirmed Domestic Pet Travel is not a member.  According to WhoIS, the website was created on 3/10/2017.
