I purchased tickets for the 2020 fair. It was a combination of fair ticket entrance and carnival bracelets. In August of 2020, the event ended up being cancelled. We were given a week to decide if we wanted a refund or if we wanted to roll the tickets over to 2021. If we chose to roll the tickets over, then no further action was needed. Fast forward to 2021, the *** and our local health department were mandating to not attend public events. Regardless, the Fair chose to move forward with the Fair. Because my children are high risk, I called the fair and requested that I be allowed to roll my tickets to 2022 and I explained why. They said they didn't see a problem and to hold on to my ticket and they would honor. Now in August of 2022, I called to confirm that I wouldn't have and issue and the female I spoke to was VERY rude and unwilling to honor my purchase. She stated that I made my option in 2020 to not get a refund and in 2021 to not attend. This pandemic has forced us to make several decisions but putting my children's health at risk is not a decision I take lightly. There was no way for me to know that the pandemic was going to roll on for as long as it has and it is UNJUST for a company to be allowed to keep funds and use the pandemic as an excuse and chalk it up as a choice. I have gift cards that are still honored. I don't see why they should be any different. There are laws in place for situations like this. The way that this was handled was not okay and unethical business practice.
