I financed a certified pre owned 2021 Kia ******* from this dealership. After driving it I found that every time I break, my breaking system would shake really bad. I brought it to the dealerships attention and spoke to the service department. They wanted me to bring it in and I would be charged. I advised I am not paying on something that should have been fixed being that this is a certified used vehicle. He then told me to bring it in at no charge and they will take a look. After driving it they found that the roaders where worn. They advised they checked the breaks, but had they been checked they would have seen that the roaders were bad. This tells me nothing was actually checked and they advertised a certified vehicle that had not been thoroughly inspected to even be called certified and priced as such. When I brought it in, instead of replacing the roader's all they did was resurface them which is a quick and cheap service that stops the shaking, but as I drive they are going to warp again and I am going to be stuck replacing them when they should have been replaced from the beginning being that this is a quote on quote certified vehicle. Also now my car says I need service done and I haven't even had it more than 2 months. I feel as though I was charged extra for a "Certified vehicle" that did not get inspected to be considered certified. I feel like I was completely lied to and hustled. They thought they can just resurface the roaders and that being that I am a female I would not know the difference.

We started the pre-owned certified vehicle inspection on this vehicle on October 30th, 2023 and completed it on November 8th, 2023 at approx. ****** miles.  In addition to our normal certified inspection this vehicle received four tires, alignment and a windshield with calibration.  The vehicle was sold on January 27th, 2024.  The customer returned on February 24th at ****** miles and had a complaint of the steering wheel shaking when braking at freeway speeds.  It was diagnosed and the front brake rotors needed to be machined.  This was done at no expense to the customer.  Machining the rotors is a standard practice unless they are at or below minimum thickness.  If the brakes/rotors are not serviceable, then we would recommend replacement.  In terms of the maintenance light the technician most likely reset the maintenance schedule around October 30th so it would be somewhat normal for that light to come back on given it is near the 5-6 month *****

I am rejecting this response because: I am still experiencing shaking in my breaks. My father is a mechanic I know that when brakes are resurfaced the heat from driving will cause them to warp again. So how many times must you all resurface them before they are actually replaced! The more you thin them the more they warp from the heat. This is a cheap and super temporary fix that will end up costing me as I will have to replace the whole thing. It is not right that I should have to replace the brakes. If you all inspected the brakes, it would have been seen that the rotors were bad. If they are causing shaking through my steering wheel, they should have been replaced. If this was inspected as I was promised then how do you not see the rotors. You can't miss the rotors when inspecting the brakes. I was lied to and when I asked them to be fixed you all did patch work because it was on your dime. Had it been on mine, you all would have recommended a replacement. Newer cars are made with ceramic rotors which it is not recommended that they be resurfaced like the cast iron ones on older vehicles. It was assumed I wouldn't know or catch this and I have.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

On this model the rotors are cast iron and the pads are ceramic.

We are willing to replace the front brakes rotors and pads for you if you like.

Defective mechanic work, failure to respond to complaint, unprofessional and leaving vehicle in dangerous condition. I had a drive built replaced while having 3 manufacturing recalls preformed on 12-28-2023. The work was done substandard and the vehicle was left in an unsafe driving condition. I reached out more than 3 times to the service manager ***************** without a response. I filed a complaint (complaint letter and invoice attached) with KIA of Puyallup on 1-3-2024. ***************** not any member of KIA of Puyallup has responded. It is now 1-9-2024 and I am now asking for a full refund of ****** for the unsatisfactory, defective work so that I may pay someone else to correct the work. If my money is not refunded in full and I am forced to take this mater to court, I will be asking for refund, cost of repair from new mechanic, plus legal fees from KIA of Puyallup.

Our notes show the customer mentioned something about a coolant smell back in June 2021 at approx. ****** miles.  Our team inspected the vehicle and pressure checked it and found no issue at that time.

Our records do not show any more mention of a coolant smell since that time.

The most recent visit was on June 6th, 2023 and no notes regarding of a coolant smell complaint.  Our Lube Technician did note that there was coolant residue on the overflow bottle.

We are happy to look at the vehicle and hear specifically what the issue is.  Our Service Manager ***************** would be the best person to contact.

      Thank you.

*** had a engine recall I was not aware of and refused to fix my 2015 *** sportage. The camshaft bearing was shredding in the engine. My engine light had been on for over 2yrs of ownership and we did not and could not find out why before the software update. It's a safety hazard a d has resulted in me returning the vehicle to *********** financing. The engine cost is half of the loan and a new engine more than half. I want reimbursement for rental fees and possibly another car or repair it and settle the debt with ***********.
