On November 23, 2021, Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of consumer complaints filed against Convergent Outsourcing Inc.
Consumers are alleging Convergent Outsourcing Inc is outsourced by Cox Communications to handle debt reconciliation and debt collections. Consumers claim their identity is being stolen and they are being harassed by phone calls stating they have debt that is owed. Consumers are alleging that Convergent Outsourcing Inc works for several businesses, one being T-Mobile USA. Consumers are alleging Convergent Outsourcing Inc is calling them and seeking payments on behalf of T-Mobile USA. Consumers have stated that the Federal Communications Commission and other federal agencies are involved due to discrepancies of T-Mobile USA and what appears to be fraudulent activity on customer accounts. Consumers have alleged they have sent payments to Convergent Outsourcing Inc in exchange to have all information related to a debt removed from their credit files. Consumers have tried to dispute these reports through Credit Karma and other third-party credit reporting agencies. Consumers claim they are receiving reports of credit files opened on behalf of Convergent Outsourcing, Inc.

I am writing urgently to address inaccuracies on my credit report due to the disclosure of my personal information to credit bureaus, which has caused significant financial and emotional distress.According to 15 USC 1681 Section 602, I am entitled to financial privacy and expect my information to be treated confidentially.Additionally, under 15 USC 1681 Section 604(a)(2), a consumer reporting agency cannot disclose account details without my explicit consent, which I have not provided.The discrepancies associated with CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING have negatively impacted my financial standing and need immediate correction.Moreover, compliance with 15 USC 1666(b) is crucial, as it prohibits creditors from treating credit card payments as late under specific conditions.For your reference, my account details are:Account Number: *************I request a thorough review of my account, immediate correction of the credit report inaccuracies, and strict adherence to federal laws governing my information.Failure to address these concerns promptly may result in legal action. Will not tell me what this supposed collection how much it is it for which company it is from. Very rude Lawyer said see you in court and hung up on me. That was on May 9th. Today May 15th refused to give me any information because he said my file was sealed and are taking me to court because I was disrespectful to so called Lawyer. No customer service skills what so ever. This company is scamming people and using scare tactics.Business response

Convergent Outsourcing has false contact information. Every time I place a call with the number listed no one answers and the line just sits in silence. Businesses should have reasonable active contact numbers so people can communicate especially when the company is a known debt collector. Something needs to be done. We have questions and concerns. Id like to have a good will deletion for my credit but no one answers. Account has been paid in full over 2 years ago.Business response

I am rejecting this response because you guys bought the debt from the company. I paid the debt in full to which you were supposed to relay the account information to Sprint. So to say you have nothing to do with how this affects my credit is incorrect. You had the power to relay to the company that I paid that account in full and you did not do so. I called Sprint to directly to see if they can resolve the issue, and they said once they sell the debt, it is up to you guys to update the account. ****

On February 9, 2024 I sent a certified letter to the credit bureaus certified number is: EXPERIAN - 9589 0710 5270 1228 8326 47 EQUIFAX - 9589 0710 5270 1228 8326 30 TRANSUNION - 9589 0710 5270 1228 8326 54 Also on March 8, 2024 I sent a second certified letter to the credit bureau, certified number is:EXPERIAN - 7021 0950 0002 0348 2779 EQUIFAX - 9589 0710 5270 0997 9470 40 TransUnion was still conducting their investigation from February.The credit bureaus stated account name and account number:MIDLANDCRE - *********PORTFOLIO - COMEN-**************LVNV FUNDING LLC - ************ SPRINGOAKCAP - 7062****CREDIT COLL - 8812****NATLCRSYS - 37886**was properly investigation, but how is that possible? Hello the info in the previous response was stated clear of the accounts that are reporting on my credit files.

I havent given these accounts written permission to furnish these accounts on my credit report as well.
