On Oct. 11, 2023 I requested by email that North East Landscaping ***** winterize my sprinkler system at a property in *******, *******. On Oct. 14 *** responded that they would winterize it that day. I received an invoice by text and email the same day Oct. 14. I was out of town on that day and stopped by the property on Oct. 16 and saw the damage they caused. Telephone calls go to voice mail, and I emailed my concerns Oct. 17 to the owner ***************************. Did not receive a response until Oct. 20 stating winterized on Oct. 14. I sent another email Oct. 20 summarizing my concerns and have not received any return phone calls or emails since. Furthermore, the sprinkler/irrigation system at the *********************** is relatively new, only about 5 years old. Ive requested that *** winterize the system the last 3 years. No one else has serviced the system during that time besides ***. There are 3 shutoff valves in the water irrigation box along with the backflow valves. Each previous year when the system was winterized, all 3 of the shutoff valves have been turned off. This time, only one valve was turned off. I discovered that the brass fitting the ****** on the compressor air hose connects to was sheared off from the *** pipe and laying at the bottom of the box. At the beginning of spring the brass fitting and connection were OK, and no one accessed the irrigation until *** on Oct. 14, 2023. The *** pipe for blowing out the system is a vertical stand-alone pipe. Even a lay person can see that something is wrong as there is standing water up to the top of the pipe. Compressed air did not push the water out of the pipe. There is material damage done to the system which *** will not acknowledge. They will not return phone calls, only an email saying that the system was winterized. I question this as anyone can see standing water in the vertical blowout pipe and the water has not been properly evacuated from the system. I am concerned about freeze damage this winter.Customer response

I would like to close the complaint that I filed on North East Landscaping, LLC. We have successfully resolved the issues.
I met with the owner of the company and his irrigation crew on site at the property. They had a photo of the fitting that was sheared off and another one showing winterization of the sprinkler system misting. They said that the fitting was damaged prior to them starting work and were able to connect to another fitting to blow the system out. I cannot confirm or dispute when or how the fitting was damaged in a protective irrigation box since it was last checked on in April/May of 2023. The company repaired the system to my satisfaction at their expense.
