They mislead you into thinking you are landing a big modelling contract. They charged me $500 for a photoshoot which they said Id be able to earn back from modelling and acting jobs. But despite opening all their emails and applying to all relevant jobs, I never landed any. They also seldom sent any jobs. It quickly became clear that they were a scam. Then when I tried to leave my contract, they had the audacity to act like I was in the wrong and that they had done some big favor for me. Their scout, *****, a blockhead, is especially delusional and manipulative.I have no doubt that will reply with some useless drivel further antagonising me and attempting to clear their name. Dont fall for their lies.

Hello and thank you for giving us a chance to reply to this customer.  We are honestly surprised by this complaint for many reasons.

      1) We do not ever guarantee anyone a job, only opportunities.  The exact working in the contract he signed states:
"SAA makes no guarantee, promise or warrant that any such modeling engagements,
professional appearances, TV or other engagements of the like will be found, or if once
found, that they will actually occur."

      2) The only fees this customer paid were for a photo shoot that we arranged for him and he received the full benefit from.  So there would be nothing to refund.

      3) He did actually book two jobs through us and was paid for those jobs which does not match the complaint.

      4) When he asked to terminate his contract after only a few months he was asked why.  He first said that he had lost interest in the industry.  To which he was told that he could of course unsubscribe from our email list (which he did) and wait for his one year contract to terminate.  He then admitted that he had not told the truth and that he did in fact want to look into other agencies.  It is a shame that he did not at least continue to apply for castings during his one year contract since he had already booked two and we had a record year in bookings.

      5) And lastly we are not sure why he would wait an additional 9 months after our last conversation with him and 3 months after his contract officially terminated to file this complaint.  Seems disingenuous at best.  I would be happy to provide any supporting documents such as his original photo shoot agreement with the refund policy, his signed agency contract, a copy of the cashed check he received as payment for the jobs we booked for him, and copies of the emails where he claimed to have lost interest in the industry and then later that he had not told the truth and just wanted to look into other agencies.

      Best Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:

one, you gave me 2 small jobs that paid barely 50$ before my photoshoot and ***** the scout manipulated me into thinking I would get more jobs. I applied to every job relevant to me but got NONE.

I lied about leaving because I was intimidated by your business practices. Since you had already cheated me once, I didnt expect you to terminate my contract. Also ***** was extremely unprofessional messaging me in my other language and arguing with me and using my mental health history to gaslight me. The reason I waited so long to respond was because I didnt know HOW to respond. I didnt know I could report you this in depth. If I knew I could do this, I wouldve reported you months ago.

      Sincerely,

      *******************

I paid 220 which was about half the payment, they stated I paid the remaining balance of 280 which I do not recall. . I requested a refund as the contract itself is not valid until all funds are paid. They will not send receipt confirmation or the said contract. They are trying to keep the money and it has been 5 years now. Seattle Talent is a bias based agency and the majority of opportunities are for petite,Caucasian or asian people. This is not an equal opportunity agency. If you are a woman of color or plus size you will be waiting for a slim chance for something to Come your way. I have requested a full refund.

I delayed responding a few days, as when I researching the history with ************** with our company, I found out she was engaging other people about this matter.  I believe by the last correspondence shared with me that a resolution had been reached.

A couple of things to address her complaint directly:

She did pay $220 in late 2018.  There was no attempt to collect the $280 she was contractually obligated to pay since it seemed she lost interest.  Contrary to her claim, a contract is executable upon signing.  I have included the two passages in the contract that she signed that she agrees that fees paid are non-refundable after 72 hours, and that her failure to attend the workshop she invested in does not relieve her of the obligation.

With her claim of our Company being biased, there seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how the industry works.  Productions contact us with what they are looking for their project, we have no say in what casting types they ask for.  With regard to being a woman of color, roughly seventy percent of our auditions are for adult women, and almost ninety percent are open to women of color or any ethnicity.  When I looked at our most often booked adult women, three of the top five were African American, and all five were women of color.  We are well known in the industry for our diversity of ages, ethnicities, and casting types.

Again, I believe a resolution has been reached that was satisfactory to ************** as well as the company, and we wish her well in her other endeavors.
