BBB, I am requesting your help to obtain a refund from Skyway for towing expenses and an investigation into their predatory towing practices for violating WAC **********. I was a hotel guest at Skyway Inn for the night of Saturday August 21. Payment was prepaid via PayPal on the Hotels.com site. Upon arrival at 6pm, Skyway Inn check-in receptionist told me I could park anywhere in the hotel area and I did not need to register my car. I left the hotel at 7pm. The receptionist towed my car on Saturday August 21 at 9pm. Skyway Inn receptionist did not make any attempts to call my phone before towing. Skyway Inn receptionist told me it was policy to tow cars if the alarm goes off and they can't find the owner. I have phone records from TMobile to prove I did not recieve any calls on August 21. On Sunday August 22, I went back to the Skyway Inn lobby to ask for help contacting the Manager. Skyway Inn receptionist scolded me for not leaving my car keys with the front office. Skyway Inn receptionist said it was policy to leave car keys with them. This is a ridiculous policy to ask from hotel guests. Washington Administrative Code ********** states: Signs for publicly owned or controlled parking facilities need to disclose that unauthorized vehicles will be impounded and must also disclose a phone number for redeeming a vehicle. If a registered tow truck operator is used, the signs must meet the same requirements as in the posting of private nonresidential property.As seen from my photos, no towing related signs were in the hotel parking lot. I am seeing a full refund of the towing from A ******* Towing of $348.41. I have not heard back from the manager despite multiple attempts. Please help.
