****************** arrived 9/15/2022 to clean carpets in a 3 bedroom home. His quote for the work was $500, sent prior in an email. He worked on the carpets and upon completion declared the job was bigger than he thought and raised his price to $800. He declared the carpets were now cleaned and all stains were removed thereby saving us the cost of replacements. Due to his exclamation that the carpets were now stain free, the $800 was paid with a $40 tip added. He wrote thE attached invoice stating, I was able to remove all ************* on carpet..What he didnt say, as we learned later from other professional carpet cleaners, was there is NO WAY to,know if carpet stains are removed until the carpet dries. Stains resurface up from the soaking wet pad beneath the carpet. ****************** left the carpets sopping wet with no means provided to dry them. We followed the advice of others and turned up the thermostat to dry them out overnight. The enclosed photos show what we returned to the following AM - heavily stained carpeting throughout the home. ****************** returned and said he would clean the bedrooms again, but the living and dining room stains would not come out. He spent less than 1/2 hour doing this. It had no effect on the outcome and ALL carpet was then removed and replaced by a contractor.Upon multiple occasions ***************** was contacted and told of our dissatisfaction with paying him over his original pricing of $500 upon his VERBAL and WRITTEN assurances that he had successfully removed all stains and soil. We feel he manipulated his way to more money through lies and deception by providing false claims of successful cleaning. We have asked for $340.00 to be refunded us - the additional monies paid over the quoted price. He has not responded to those multiple requests.We ask your assistance in securing this reasonable settlement by providing another opportunity for ***************** to honor his quote and answer for his deceptive business practices.
