After concluding my business with Seattle Movers, they continued to charge me monthly storage fees automatically for 2 months, for a total of $700. My belongings were back in my home, but they kept charging me. I notified of them of the issue on June 21, 2024, but they have not given me my refund yet. They continue to make up excuses about new accountants, accountants being on vacation, accountants being hard to work with, etc. They first promised to have it done within 2 weeks. It has now been over 2 months. I want my overcharged $700 returned. Thank you. Please see the email screenshotsBusiness response

On 12/1/2022, Seattle Movers WA came to move my belongings from my previous apartment to my current apartment. I initially hired them mid-November 2022 because they gave me an estimate online/over the phone of $485 ($150 deposit, $335 due on move day) for 2-4 hours of work. The work ended up taking about 4 hours on the moving day (12/1/22), and once they finished moving everything into my new apartment, they told me my total was actually $940.00. I immediately told them that was more than double what they initially quoted me, and they said that didn't matter because the estimate they gave me was non-binding and because the work took longer than expected (four hours, which is technically what the estimate was). They agreed to let me pay in installments because I only had enough to cover the amount listed in the estimate. So far I've paid the $150 deposit and an additional $310 (totaling $460 out of $940, which is almost the initial estimate amount of $485), but today I saw that the BBB recently issued a scam warning for this company, so I'm filing a complaint at the suggestion of a BBB employee via online chat. I'm not entirely sure what to do since I already signed the paper, but since this company appears to be scamming me, too, I would prefer not to give them any more money for obvious aforementioned reasons if i can possibly avoid it.Business response

Hello,
Seattle Movers Moved ********* in Dec. His bill was right within the estimate with no damage claims and he tipped the crew. He mentioned he had heard about a company on the news doing scams and thought it was us. It wasn't and I explained this to him.
Thanks, ******Customer response

I received a quote from seattle movers via email for $245 - $345 (2 movers at $99 an hour plus a $45 travel fee.) I was told via phone they do not charge an hour for travel time. The movers were 2 hours late and I had to move elevator reservations around. 3 of them showed up at $150 an hour but since they were late I opted to just go with it. They forgot their card reader so Id have to pay cash. The move itself was fine considering I did half the work myself, and much of my furniture arrived at my new address arrived slightly damaged because they just sort of threw it in the back. When we arrived I was told it would take 2h45m to unload and transport the boxes and furniture and the total would be $680, including an hour travel at $150, and that if I didnt pay theyd just drive off. Seeing as I sort of needed my furniture I had to accept this. I was told Id get a receipt which I of course did not, and when we were done 1 hour and 3 minutes later I was told a refund was not possible for the 1h45m or so they overestimated the time on. They have not returned calls or texts, and their email seems to have blocked me as its continually bouncing back. I would like a refund for $335, the difference in what I was quoted and what they charged.Business response
