I hired Sunergy 6 years ago. Originally, they did a good job, but here are the problems I've had since the install:1.) Leaks! There was water intrusion into the inverter!! They "fixed" it by drilling a weep hole. I don't know about you, but I'm *still* concerned about high voltage and water in the inverter!2.) Leaks in the roof. They do not have proper on-call processes in place when their office is closed. I notified them about the leak and they were only able to get someone to the house to take a look 2 weeks later.3.) They tried to skirt around their responsibilities to fix the actual damage in #2, and only wanted to put some caulk on the leak. Then they proposed an obviously sub-par (but cost-effective for them) solution to prey on an uninformed homeowner.4.) They clean your panels with soap that has caused permanent stains on the panels. It has probably caused some loss of production due to this.5.) Their employees have criminally threatened me.Given my experience, I can no longer recommend Sunergy Systems.Business response

Sunergy Systems installed a Solar Hot Water system in my home in 2012. As it came upon 10 years of having the system, I realized that I needed to more fully understand the lifespan of the system and whether I needed to pursue replacement of the system. I had ************ come inspect the system and they brought to my attention the fact that the system was not initially installed in accordance with plumbing code, and also in a manner that completely voids the lifetime warranty on the water heater tank. Additionally, because of the improper installation, in the event that the system leaked, my homeowner's insurance would likely not cover the damage to my home. Specifically, the P&V relief valve is not routed outside and discharges in a closet with no leak containment. In the project contract, they specifically state "Sunergy systems uses industry standard best practices and hall comply with all component manufacture installation requirements and instructions." In the manufacturer's instructions, it clearly states "the installer must: make provisions so if the storage tank or any component part or connection thereto should leak, the resulting flow of water will not cause damage to the area in which it is installed." Additionally, Kitsap county has no records of permits for the work they did.I am extremely fortunate that no incidents have occurred thus far, but as the system ages, the likelihood of failure increases. I contacted Synergy and was told that they no longer deal in these systems and threw me on the mercy of their previous employee who used to install the systems. Unfortunately, I am no expert in plumbing code and I would expect a professional installation company to install something properly, in accordance with plumbing code and the manufacturer's specifications. The resolution I am seeking is to complete the installation IAW code, as it should have been done in the first place.Business response
