on March 31st 2025 I ordered the "World Christian ************ 2nd **** when the package arrived I recieved only volume 2 of a 2 volume set, there was nothing in the product discription of this being only part of a set. When I reached out to customer service I was told I would need to return the book in order to get a refund, I replied that I would rather be sent volume one as the image on the listing showed both books, they resonded that they just use stock images but they include all the details in the item detail page, I responded that after looking at their website it clearly shows that they have volume 1 for sale by itself. Interestingly, the volume 1 they have listed is also a former libary book, and listed as the same condition of 'good'. They then said that this was a listing error and they would refund my money without me having to return the item (which in my mind at least is an admission of eather fraud or incompatance) but would not respond to my request for volume 1 to be sent to me. This suggests that they intend to repeat this scam where they sell half a set to some unwitting customer again.Business Response

I'd ordered on February *******, Alien Harvest by ***** Moulton ****. But on March *******, I received the wrong book which is Alien Animals by ******. I paid a lot of money and do not want this trash book Alien Animals. I'm mailing it back to their Texas office. I tried Emailing and to complain on their website which are not responding. I want a refund. I reordered it but threw ***** This is the third time they messed up on an order to me in a year time. Not happy. I bought a lot of stuff from them and hoped they would be willing to fix problem. Instead, I'm being ignored and refused help from their department. I did a book buy back program where I sent them textbooks. They were supposed to send me money for the textbooks. They sent me an email saying they received the package. The next day they sent me an email saying all the books from the buy back list were missing and they were not going to pay me. There is no way they received the package and all the books were missing. That is only possible if they received an empty box. I think they are claiming their missing so they don't have to pay me.Business Response

On 12/9/24, I ordered two books. One was shipped the following day. I received notice that, on 12/17/24, the second (much more expensive) book was shipped. However, the tracking number said for days on end - all the way until now - that the book was never received by ****. Nor did I ever receive it at my house. I have contacted Thriftbooks multiple times requesting a refund for a product I have not received. First, they told me to wait 12 business days. Now that it has been more than 12 business days, they continue to assure me the book has shipped. It has now been almost a month since I ordered the book.Initial Complaint

I placed an order with Thriftbooks and paid for expedited shipping. The order has now been delayed and I will not receive it on time to take with me for the holidays.Thriftbooks REFUSES to call ***** and have the delivery address changed so that I can have my gift for my brother at the holidays. ***** states ONLY the shipper can change the delivery address, not the receiver.I am now going to have to pay to ship the book to my brother after the holidays and it is a collectible book. They are stating they are going to refund my purchase price but that does NOTHING for the stress and disappoint of not having anything for my brother for Christmas. Thriftbooks has the ability to change the delivery address with ***** yet are UNWILLING to do that. As a business they have fallen WAY SHORT on good customer service!I want compensation for having to now pay for shipping to my brother (expedited and insured). I also want compensation for the stress and GREAT disappointment of not having the book for the holidays because they LIED!! I am rejecting this response because it is almost FOUR MONTHS AFTER my order and when you had the opportunity to CHANGE the shipping delivery address with ***** because you did NOT ship as I requested AND PAID FOR, instead you used excuse after excuse and were TOO LAZY to make a simple phone call and correct YOUR MISTAKE! Even after I made multiple calls to Thriftbooks and *****. I will NOT accept the gift card because I will NEVER do business with Thriftbooks again!!!!

On December 6th, I ordered a book from **************************. The book was only available in new condition, and I paid $19.10 for the book. **** I added the item to my cart, the item page read that the item ships within 24 hours, and still reads such (screenshot provided of selling page.) **** I went to complete my checkout, again the shipping time was advertised as 8-12 days for delivery, and up to 48 hours for processing (screenshot provided.) **** I had not received notice that the item had shipped, I reached out to Thriftbooks' customer service team to check on the order on December 11th. Thriftbooks replied that "New" condition items have a 7-10 processing time before they ship. This was confirmed by two representatives (email chain transcript provided.) My complaint is that Thriftbooks' website does not mention the additional processing times for new books, only longer delivery times (screenshot of their shipping FAQ provided.) Knowing that the book would take longer to process AND deliver would have changed my decision to order from Thriftbooks. I feel that Thriftbooks' current advertisement of shipping times is therefore misleading, and would like them to update their website to better reflect accurate expectations for product arrival dates.Business Response

Hello I have ordered seven items from thriftbooks and got an email stating that my order would be shipped into shipments.I am in the middle of catching their mistake and they are purposely missing two items so that I can not get my full order I will not allow this to happen.I will not allow shady business practices to ruin my shopping experience with thriftbooks There are seven complete items and I have counted all seven in the original screenshot the second screenshot states that only five of my items will be shipped I will not allow this and it needs to be corrected as soon as possible or I will complain.I will not tolerate items missing from any of my ordersBusiness Response

On Nov 26, 2024 I ordered two books from Thrift Books Global. I immediately received an email confirming my order and on the following day received an email stating my order was being processed and they would email me with tracking information. When I had not heard from them by Dec. 7th I attempted to look up my order on their site. First I was obligated to create an account to see my order which seems like coercion. When I found my order it showed my money had been refunded without further explanation. I emailed Thrift Books support to find out why my money had been refunded and received an email saying they owed me an apology. That their 'Fraud' software had canceled my order through no fault of my own. I emailed again and asked why I hadn't been informed, that these books were Christmas gifts. I received a form email explaining how to track my order but not responding to my question.Business Response

I placed an online order and called to cancel within the hour. The representative I spoke with contacted her supervisor who told me the item was from a third party customer so the order was not showing up in the system. They said they noted my account to cancel the order and it will cancel when it shows up. 2 hours later I got a email saying it had been sent for processing of shipment. I called back and this time spoke with another customer service representative who told me they didn't have any record of my call. They said they couldn't cancel the order. This company is dishonest and try to steal peoples money. I asked for a refund and she said she would do one. I asked for a confirmation number and email and she said they don't provide any of that. They have poor communication, dishonest business practices and lack of transparency.Business Response
