My husband and myself received dental service from this practice in OCT 21, annual dental cleaning, which were covered under our insurance. I received a **** from this practice in April and again in May stating that I owe them money. My husband and I are Army retirees and have never had to pay for our teeth cleaning as our insurance cover the costs. We used this service because a receptionist told us our insurance was in the network. This office notified me after the service has been rendered over 6 months ago stating that our insurance paid less than estimated. I called my insurance to find out that this practice is not in the network. They already charged my husband and he already paid his ****. I received a separate **** with this charge. Additionally, a dentist from this practice told my husband, my mother, myself, and a neighbor that we all needed additional dental work following our initial assessments; my husband and mother did take his medical advice and had more dental work done, which they are not happy with. And myself and a neighbor went to another dentist in Turmwater for second opinions to find out there is nothing wrong with our teeth and do not need further service. This was purely their mistake, as I confirmed with this practice prior to the service that they were indeed in the network, and I should not pay for their mistake. Additionally, my husband's charge should be refunded. I could just pay it but I wonder how many others have been defrauded by this practice, hence writing this complaint.Business response

We informed her that her insurance is not in network with the office. We were in the process of applying to participate in network. It is also the patients' responsibilities to know their insurances. We do not work for dental insurances but we help patients with their insurances submissions as a courtesy. We only **** patients for whatever their portion is based on their insurances requirements. We only propose treatment when necessary. We also obtain financial agreements prior to any treatment.
