I am retired and cheap as a steel *****. Raptor Rooter gave me a free estimate to replace a 90-year-old main water shut-off valve. They stuck to that estimate despite unforeseen time and materials required. They did the job I wanted instead of what would have been easier and cheaper. The only other plumber who offered a free estimate wanted $200 more for the easier cheap method. I am one happy **** of my castle and Raptor Rooter is my go to plumber.NOTE: Although this business is not BBB accredited, they did good work for me. Recommend technician *******************. If you are rich and have money to spare go with the other ******* who was BBB A+.

Raptor Rooter did a simple kitchen drain cleanout that took under 45 minutes. No special tools, no extra plumbing, no drain scope, no surprises. In and out no problem. It was not an emergency call and it was not after hours. In the past I'd paid approx $150 for this most basic of plumbing services. Raptor Rooter charged me $376 before tax ($410 after tax!) this last Monday. For comparison I had an appointment the next day with a competitor running a special for $79 (regular rate $149) for the same service. Raptor Rooter does not publish their rates so I did not know this ahead of time. They only tell you when they arrive. So I was kind of stuck. And they kind of knew it.The math shows Raptor Rooter's hourly rate is: $376 / **** hrs = $501/hr $501/hr! For the most remedial of plumbing work. From Raptor Rooter. They call this their "flat rate". Not $501/hr, mind you . . . they claim not to have an hourly rate at all, only flat rates. And they seem unwilling to comprehend the connection when I try to call them about it. "Oh no we don't have an hourly rate. That's a flat rate." Dismissive and unhelpful. And gouging and unfair.One year ago I had them install a faucet and garbage disposal. In that instance they literally charged me double the time it took them to do it. 2 hours instead of 1. (They had an hourly rate then.) At the time their manager did the right thing and cut my bill back to the single hour it took them to do the work. So I paid my bill and called it an honest mistake. But now it feels like a pattern of price gouging. I wonder how many other customers just gasp and pay their bill without complaint. So for me and all others out there, here I am on BBB voicing my displeasure. Hope it's worth it Raptor Rooter!
