On February 9, 2018, BBB received a report through BBB’s Scam Tracker from a consumer alleging after negotiating the sale of a 1959 Cadillac Biarritz convertible listed on hotclassdeals.com for $48,600, the seller reported the car with its title were located at Durnford Transport in Hayden, Idaho.  The consumer alleges the seller informed him he was out of the country and had contracted with Durnford Transport to act as the intermediary in the transaction.  The consumer was then instructed to go to the website, durnfordtransport.com and register.  Once registered the consumer was told the seller would initiate the transfer.  After registering as instructed, the consumer alleges George Riva from Durnford Transport contacted him by email and phone to inform him he would send the Bill of Sale and Purchase Contract for him to sign.  Once the consumer signed the agreements, he would send the wiring instructions.  Once the consumer wired the full purchase amount to Durnford Transport, the money would remain in escrow and the car would be shipped.  The consumer was told he would have seven days to inspect the car and if he found the car was misrepresented or not to his expectations Durnford would pick up the car at no extra charge and refund the full amount of the purchase price.  If the consumer agreed to accept the car, the money would then be transferred to the seller.    The consumer, at the advice of his attorney, then asked the seller to use an independent escrow company and to send a copy of the car registration and the divorce settlement agreement that pertained to the disposition of the vehicle.  At that point, the seller and Durnford Transport stopped replying to the consumer.

BBB drove by its advertised location on Reed Rd in Hayden, ID and found the business does not exist.  BBB has been unable to find a physical location for this company.  Durnford Transport is not registered with Idaho Secretary of State, does not hold a US Department of Transportation license for the transporting of vehicles nor an escrow license in the State of Idaho.  The website, durnfordtransport.com was registered on January 9, 2018 and its IP location is located in Austin, TX.

On February 14, 2019 BBB found the company is now operating under the name Wyegate Transport, https://wyegatetransport.com advertising a location in Spokane, WA.
