May 2022 I went to this business to get help filing my 2020 taxes. *****************************, the owner, made an appointment with me and we went over what he would do. I agreed to his terms and he said he wouldn't start unless he had a $1500 retainer. I got the check for him and he stated he would email me. A few weeks went by and I never heard from him. A few months went by and now I understand this to be either fraud or a ******* of some kind. He won't answer calls or emails, he has never once reached out to me in the last 6 months. Conveniently he cashed my check though. If ****** is not going to perform service and collect payment I would like other people warned. $1500 is a lot of money to donate to someone who does not perform the services he agrees to. He also goes by West Coast Tax Resolution as well. I would also like the return of my personal tax information because I'm afraid of fraud activity with it.Business response

The complainant has been addressed and this matter is considered resolved. Please let the record reflect that the complainant attached a file depicting what appears to be an invoice with random contractual "terms" indicating things such as how long her case will take to see completion, promised time frame for follow-up/case updates, and a vague statement regarding how additional fees may become due. West Coast Tax Resolution did NOT produce this invoice. The complainant falsified this document to support their otherwise baseless arguments.
West Coast Tax Resolution utilizes two software platforms, Square and QuickBooks, to produce and send invoices to clients, and neither of them generate an invoice that looks even remotely similar to the one depicted in the complainant's attachment. Further examination revealed that the fake invoice was clearly a template, as indicated by the footer of the document displaying "company name" and other placeholder text.
Additionally, a review of our internal logs show that the complainant has lied about the length of time of this business relationship, as well as their assertions about how difficult we have been to get ahold of. Complainant claims she hired us in May of 2022 and even shows this on her fictitious invoice, yet we didn't receive an initial phone call from her until June of 2022. Camera footage revealed that she never met with our practitioner for a consultation until June 15, 2022.
Therefore, we want this liar to quit with her attempted defamation of our character. We have followed up with her via email as we have obtained new information, but she claims to have been trying to get ahold of us "for months." The next time she contacted us was in September 2022 via phone call. Not once in between our initial meeting and September did she try to reach out, through any method of communication. Our engagement letter detailing the terms of service and managing client expectations, clearly states that "all fees are earned when paid," and "retainers are non-refundable." Payment of our required fees is necessary prior to execution of services, due to the nature of the tax resolution industry. This is customary practice, just as with any other professional service.
There is more to say, but we wish to keep this concise. Complainant will be facing litigation for defamation of character, impersonating an officer, falsification and fraudulent practices, as well as slanderous, libelous, and other tortious conduct.
Kind Regards,
West Coast Tax Resolution

Last winter, I contacted ****** at West Coast Tax Resolution to assist me with a tax ****. I signed a contract and paid $800 (50% of their fee) to assist me. ****** has not provided any services, and he is now not returning my phone calls and emails. I provided my tax returns to him and additional tax information. He now has my tax information, and my $800 and has not provided any assistance or service. I am unable to reach him as he will not respond to my emails and phone calls. Please help!
