    On April 24 our A/C went out. AAA came to evaluate 6-7 year old heat pump. Diagnosed a leak, and damaged, ***** coil. Paid ******* for repair and service contract. May 9, tech arrives and locates ****, and gets system running, finds he has the wrong coil. Tech will investigate and get back to us. May 16 call to check in, no call back. I call the 17, the 20, the 21, each time, "someone will call in a few minutes or later today" with no return call. May 22, a rep calls and says can't get the part, company is not making it and AAA will refund 950 dollars for the coil. I replied, then have we paid 3000 to repair a system that now has to be replaced as the coil will fail and can't be replaced? Rep offers a receipt for the work, says she will ask manager about a credit on a new system should old coil fail. ~$930 refunded next Monday, but no receipt or call back. Last calls May 27 and 28, first rep said a tech will call to discuss and sent two receipts which don't mention the cost of the coil/aren't clear how they get to the total cost. No call backs.I still have a service plan which I have to wait to cancel, but as it stands at the moment, I cant have them out again. It was not my responsibility to make sure the right part was on their truck before we elected to spend money on a repair. We feel misled and most importantly ignored, and have been made to feel that somehow, we are in the wrong in trying to understand what was happening. I decided to cold-call a local competitor of AAA and ran the hypothetical by the guy who answered the phone without indicating the company. Ironically, this guy happened to be the owner of the company, ****, and after, I felt even more justified in leaving this review. What a difference in approach when you are not afraid to talk to customers. The breakdown happened between AAA and the company making the part, yet we are paying the price and that is unacceptable. I regret being forced to post on BBB as a last resort.
