I applied for reasonable accommodation with Spokane Housing Authority. The specific document states to have a reliable third party who knows about the medical condition however I was denied for that. I called NW Justice and in fact, Spokane Housing Authority is discriminating by also claiming I am only allowed one accommodation for medical equipment even though the ***** site states that there is no limit to the amount of accommodations one can have as long as it is reasonable which mine is so I was also denied for that. I was denied for contradictory statements I had rotator cuff surgery in March and I am still not healed so I was asking for another room so I had the proper space to heal. This does not just hinder me physically but emotionally, and mentally, this has caused so much depression. This specific situation is also in connection to a DV situation. If my abuser comes here to harm me, I am not physically able to defend myself. I have never seen so much discrimination especially when it comes to a medical situation. My life is on the line and because SHA has not given me the accommodation this is solely on them. It makes no sense to deny someone for the same thing that has been asked on their document(s). If SHA specifically wanted a doctor or medical provider the ** document needs to state that not to mention that the email on the document also is invalid because the individual no longer works at SHA. I am asking for an extra room so I can heal and not be in danger which is not much to ask. My DV situation can be avoided by having this extra room as well but *** is making the situation extremely difficult. I will file a lawsuit for discrimination and I will file other complaints with the ***** for housing discrimination.
